I have created a quickstart blender tutorial for blender 2.7 some time ago that was especially targeted to ones who considered blender being too hard for first steps in 3d.
Unlike Blender Guru and other artistic blender tutorials this shows the most straight forward simple, quick and dirty(!) way to create simple objects with blender:

The tone in it is very sarcastic, I think it's also suitable for deaf persons since the spoken words are mostly in it to make it a bit entertaining. I also tried and when I remember managed to do everything without using a keyboard shortcut.
Please note that the very special steps to make the object compatible with the Thememaker Toolkit afterwards are of course not included (I hope you don't find it inappropriate that the objects ends in a different roller coaster simulation software [mouth shut]).
