Blue, red or green flashing?

Freqently, and more frequently today, I'm getting strange bright blue or red flashes across the dash of my ship, usually as I'm approaching a planet or today even when I'm cruising over the surface looking for bacteria colonies. They seem to happen randomly, but they're very disruptive.

I wondered if anyone else was experiencing this, or if perhaps my video card is in distress...?

I experienced that too and have no idea what it is and if it is a bug or a feature.

I’ve been getting a lot of this ever since alpha of odyssey. AFAIK it’s the the nav and strobe lights of the ship reflecting through the ship and off the dash, which clearly shouldn’t be happening.
For me it seems worst when flipping through side menus.

Yes, I have this. Usually when I exit system map/galaxy map or other interface back to the game.

Yes, I have seen this. I think I have only seen this when starting to fly, going into SC? Or some UI change maybe?

Just noticed this last night. It only happened in the area of my two dashboard plant pots and only as I changed direction. When moving in a straight line I didn't see them.

been seeing this since Alpha, my first though was that it was light getting caught from other ships around you, red/blue shifted according to their direction relative to yours

but i've had it happen in systems where there didn't seem to be any other ships so.....

I have blue and red flashes in my Viper IV but not in my iCourier. No idea what could cause this.

I notice it every time my ship detects new ships..
at first I was thinking all the security ships now have police lights...

I've seen this since the alpha for Odyssey - I assumed it might be a bug allowing the new ship lights to show through the hull and have an effect in the cockpit view.

I think that it may have something to do with the external lights on your ship. When I am disembarked the area where I can board is green and the other wing has a red light (dolphin here).
