Horizons Blur when moving head(in game)

Hi, Not sure if this is the right place, but I have noticed when you use mouse look...or a head tracker or even keyboard or joyhat to look around cockpit or out window, things have a degree of motion blur. Does eveyone see this as even moving the mouse/hat switch/headtracker slowly the text and things outside still blur until you stop moving, is there an option that will remove this? I didnt seem to notice it until very recently so maybe somthing thats changed in the game? Would displsy drivers cause this if renewed?>

Is this the same blurring / vibrating effect on the HUD when landing - it is really annoying and is only recent I think.

No, but I don't like that either. This blur I am getting is when you look around your cockpit, the text on the hud and scanners etc. is where its more obvious goes blurry as hell until you stop looking around and look straight in any direction, so in essence everything is blurry when using mouselook, or headlook....it doesnt matter what input device.

Check your Audio Devices are as minimum you use. Also if you had previously disabled any then Win 10 Update reactivates these and may not show the devices up but will in the Sound Profiles.

Thanks for the reply, I'm a bit confused though, can an audio device have an impact on graphical blur. And just to be sure I have tried switching between blur on/off and other graphics options but made no difference.

Options/Graphics/Quality/Blur - On-Off.

Hi, yep, I already tried that, makes no difference. Very strange.

What's your framerate running at? Is your GPU or CPU usage maxed? My game looks fine but I'm running a 144hrtz display. It sounds like a rendering issue on your machine. Try turning down your graphics settings.

Just did a quick check in-game (forgot to do it last night) - no blurring in either mouse or mini-joystick headlook and using track IR is also problem free. So can't help you other than to say that it definitely is not present for me (running in non-modified ultra setting on a 1070 at 1440p).

Running a GTX970 Overclocked edition from MSi...@ 1920x1080, fps averages 120 give or take a few fps. It only started a few days ago, and the only things I have done was to update the gpu drivers to latest, which I have rolled back to the previous already and didnt make a difference...and I reinstalled my monitor software "forte manager" the other day, but have since uninstalled that completely. So am at a loss as to why this has happened. Have tried a complete reinstall of Elite. System Restore to 7 days ago(before the problem started) and still no change.

I'm glad yours is okay as that tells me there is a definate problem and its not just "my eyes". Or maybe it is? Hope not...anyway, its mostly noticeable where any HUD text is.

Just read your post again...you are running an MSi GTX 970 same as me and at 144hz to boot....I thought the 970 struggled with 144hz even at 1920 x 1080?

My framerate is the same as yours, the benefits of 144hz is apparent whenever you can run over 60fps. The higher the framerate, the smoother your game is going to look. And yes, you can see the difference between 60 Hz and 144 Hz. When playing FPS shooters you really start seeing much better input response above 90 fps. Everything feels more fluid and the mouse seems like you are pointing it at something rather than near something.

With FPS games I try to target a framerate over 100 fps. I generally keep the settings on low to do this for 2 reasons. The first is I don't notice the loss in quality because the game is so fast paced and I'm looking for targets not scenery. The faster I run really helps reduce the mouse lag and also the amount of times I feel like I beat someone on the draw but still died.

The second reason is all of that extra scenery can cause the GPU to work harder and thus induce lag.

ED on the other hand runs well at ultra with drops near planets, but lag in this game of very minor concern.
