I think a lot depends on perspective and lighting. In the second pic the eye looks off, but in the first one it looks fine to me.

The second one looks a bit chubby at the neck, but maybe animal obesity is a problem we'll have to tackle as well.

It was the first thing I noticed when I saw it on facebook. Important to note tho, op is just showing smaller/younger individuals and I think the devs are aiming for a older boa look and they do have much smaller eyes from my understanding. Still the in-game model does look very off and unnatural. It also seems like they messed up some facial markings unless its supposed to be some kind of variation.

Its fine for the low poly model. This model will be so small that its hard to even notice. Just a limitation of it being a big game. Its similar to the Saltwater crocs. Their scales people say look "amazing" but I look at Zoo Tycoon Ultimate Animal Collection and can see that Planet Zoo they were a bit more conservative with the polygons. The crocodile is relatively flat and most scales are merely normal mapped in. Its fine, just loses a bit of detail in doing so.

The boa looks a lot like a Burmese Python rather than a boa, it's Round rather than Square - and the face is soft not angular.

Even the texture looks like a burmese's, it really feels like it's mislabelled.

i know, i keep a boa :) I was looking at this

The end of it made me think more of the burmese with the round-body, i'd even say it looks closer to the picture you gave of the burm

The wonderful thing about textures and patterns IMO is, we will likely get mod support and an AMAZING community of players willing to make the coloring look more accurate. People who will gladly share those edits with us to plug into our own games. That is my experience with most games anyway.

Its just sad when we have to rely on modders to fix a game just like The elder scrolls and the fallout series after Bethesda took over.

Planco has no mod support, due to the use of Frontier's own engine and the code that it's build with is secret.
Why do you expect this game will have modding, when it uses a update of that engine.

Expecting mod support for Frontier games, is not something I would do.

It was confirmed that players can export content to the Steam Workshop and that's what I was going off of.

I believe theres mods for Planet Coaster if I remember correctly

Well. I never saw one in work. So to me there is none
My friend, that's not how logic works  I've never played Planet Coaster so I don't know either, but apparently Frontier recently released a so-called Thememaker's Toolkit: https://thememakers-toolkit.planetcoaster.com/login Seems that modding is supported to a certain extent. Which begs the question: will the Thememaker's Toolkit be available for Planet Zoo?

Ah, true, I meant anything that did not come from Frontier.

And it's not a mod that alters the game. You can only add (non-interactible) objects with the TMT.

But yeah, I'm stupid about forgetting the TMT.
