Hello Commanders,
We’re pleased to announce that, from
May 24 to
May 30, we will be introducing an extended ‘Bonus Weekend’, which will bring temporary but lucrative bonuses to the galaxy!
The bonuses we will activate for this period are as follows:
- All profits from trading activities will be increased (the amount of profit will vary depending on what you are shipping and where you’re shipping it to. Rare commodities are excluded from this bonus.)
- The materials requested for engineering recipes will be at one rank below the existing ones (cheapening the current cost of engineering your modules.) Edit: There are 5 ranks for materials (as can be seen in the Material Trader) and 5 ranks for engineering recipes, and these are two different ranks. This bonus relates to the rank of materials, not the rank of engineering recipes. The cost for engineering a module at Grade 5 will use Grade 4 equivalent materials, not the materials seen in Grade of the engineering recipe of that same module. We have made the changes ingame to reflect the bonus, what you see ingame right now is what you need for engineering a module during this bonus period.
Whether you’re a penniless pauper or a wealthy space-tycoon, it’ll pay to haul this weekend, so dust off your freighters and get out there!
Oh, and if you need a little extra jump-range, the engineers have you covered!
Let us know what you think about the upcoming bonus weekend
Hi Will, thanks for the update. Feedback as follows.
Trading I can understand, due to the decision points involved in any singular game (regardless of mode). With a choice of trading strategy happening at "every two journeys", (if not every time, or indeed larger loops) trading outcomes, (presently or historically) are not really devalued other than by circumstance (as opposed to, by the BGS). Arguably. Sort of, in the absence of the existence of magic. But then it's a big Universe.
Rares I get, as it seems they aren't cared about other than to serve as logistical items, or a very useful player group as a result. We wouldn't want to annoy them by devaluing their services.
The current reasoning behind materials including this one, I will never understand. Mats are stored are they not? Players still have mats from before this weekend, which now represent a lower "return on engagement", bearing in mind any mats related activity by that player? How is that metric being balanced in the context of these announcements?
Same rules apply to Engineers discounts.
Also, any other feature which arbitrarily ignores RoE and associated metrics.
and if you have any questions, we’ll do our best to answer them!
Some of these questions are serious, some of them couldn't be more serious, especially the statements. If you could get some useful information regarding these? Thanks.
1a/. How long has this
apologia exercise been planned?
1b/. Can we expect to see similar
reaction planning by the
Design Marketing Department, going forward?
2a/. Prior to this exercise (call it this week)...Can you outline the repeatable process, and the relevant teams that are required to follow it...which were used in order to provide balance over all ED performance metrics, as well as
archived existing, in-flight or pipelined ED Projects including content and Arc?
2b/. Who at Frontier is ultimately accountable for performance related
content issues?
2c/. Expressed as a percentile, by how much has the fiscal component associated with the ED Design and Development Budget, been reduced...or indeed increased on an annual basis since 2012?
3/. My Lifetime Expansion Pass cost me £130, and to date has not provided any benefit for any parties affected, primarily due to not yet being activated. So my question is this:
Can I have it back please?
Thanks!
