News Bonus Weekend: Trade & Engineering (24/05 to 30/05)

Is it? I've already got loads of fun in-game plans for this weekend ... now I gotta drop them and do crap loads of trading and engineering if I don't want to miss out? Sorry - not liking the sound of that at all.

<nope>Oh golly gee [happy now, censors?], cancel the event, this guy had plans during weekend! How could they have made such a vile mistake!?</nope>

How about building it into a in game story arc?

Would be the first time they do it. They had 100 chances already to build every bug, every removal of missiontypes and whatever into the story, they refused to do it or are not able to do it. Instead we now get chinese-MMO-crap.

Something something immersion?

If your RP is struggling, might I suggest "Wow, the Pilots Federation is running a recruitment drive, rewarding active CMDRs with credit bonuses for 7 days"

Sorry, did I mention immersion at all? No I didn't, so stop trying to fit me into some camp that it makes it easier for you to try and ridicule me from.

I'll see if there is something left to engineer.... mmmm...

I do wonder what brought this on. Metrics showing that trading died over a year ago when it was nerfed for the BGS? Engineering still not used as much as expected?

Maybe this is common for MMOs, but if this is one, this is my first one, and I've never seen anything like this before. But I'd assume it is to encourage certain game play.... Maybe just something for us to do before the 3.1 announcements start?

Whatever it is, I'm happy to come back after nearly 2 months to finally be able to finish the armor on my ships. Before this, I needed 140+ CDCs, and we all know just how fun getting those are

Anyone complaining about this not being a 'believable galaxy', or this bonus week thingy is somehow 'too gamey' or similar; when will you all realise that this is nothing more than a video game - i.e. a computer program (or collection of programs) designed to suck your life's time up for the purposes of your amusement and the company's profit? :)

I mean surely by now after 4+ years of observation of ED, it's nothing more than a thinly veiled multi player arcade game with a wonderfully created galaxy wrapped around the best sound, graphics, and flight control system you've encountered to date? I mean, it's simply not that simulation game one might have thought it was going to be (as I initially thought it might have been, a few years back - despite seeing all the signs it was never going to be that when it was truly marketed after the Kickstarter - I duped myself ;) ).

Hello Commanders,

We’re pleased to announce that, starting from May 24 to May 30, we will be introducing an extended ‘Bonus Weekend’, which will bring temporary but lucrative bonuses to the galaxy!

The bonuses we will activate for this period are as follows:

  • All profits from trading activities will be increased (the amount of profit will vary depending on what you are shipping and where you’re shipping it to. Rare commodities are excluded from this bonus.)
  • The materials requested for engineering recipes will be at one rank below the existing ones (cheapening the current cost of engineering your modules.)
Whether you’re a penniless pauper or a wealthy space-tycoon, it’ll pay to haul this weekend, so dust off your freighters and get out there!

Oh, and if you need a little extra jump-range, the engineers have you covered!

Let us know what you think about the upcoming bonus weekend and if you have any questions, we’ll do our best to answer them!

Love this idea, But in the future as events like this branch out and become more frequent. Could we get a monthly schedule please? I literally just spent two days doing a lot of engineering & just missed out on this.

Whats the meaning of this? Why profits are increased? Why engineering mats are rank below the existing ones?
I dont get it.

Sounds like some mediocre shoot'em up.. "Bonus credits, only this weekend!"

I just got 70. I feel ya.

However, I think even with this event you are better off grabbing CDC and trading down. You can usually get CDC and proprietary composites in the same HGE too.
