bounty swooping

How are you guys handaling players who bounty swoop you while hunting at extraction sites and way points. Ran into this for the second time today an spent nearly twice the game time as i wanted to play messing with this annoying player. I couldn't best him in a dog fight how ever i was able to interrupt his hunting in a similar way although I just cant get the method down of sliding between another guy and his target like these guys do. finally ticked him off enough he just fired on me because he was ticked.

Play in Solo? Fly to another RES/system? My first month or so were spent out on the fringes of the bubble; never saw another human. At, what, a few hundred LY across, that's a LOT of fringe.

'Course, when I got more interested in the whole open universe thing and moved inwards, at first I kinda liked having another player or two around just in case I got into something beyond my ability...er, Cobra.

Is it possible to invite non-friends into a wing and share Cr?

Solo thats it. I tried it on public and it sucks. Just go solo.

At least you should share in the bounty based on the damage you did to take out the bad guy. You would think it wouldnt be that hard to code that into the game.

I've spent most of my time exploring so far, but I just came back and kitted myself out with a vulture. So last night I was hunting pirates round a planet and encountered a player for the first time in months. He was getting the kills so I decided to talk to him and see if he wanted to join a wing. I think I did it wrong so I didn't get an answer, so instead I just jumped to the other side of the planet into a different RES.

Then I found a second player. I got the communication right this time and said "Hi". Was going to try the same plan, but he left for another RES shortly after.

Don't know, but I sure hope so.

You have a few choices.

1. Comm him and ask if he wouldnt mind being an awfully nice chap and stop his behaviour.

2. Take him out and accept the fine/bounty.

3. Move to another res site. Theres usually more than one in a system if not move to a nearby system.

4. Try to get caught in his fire so that he becomes wanted.

Thankfully I don't meet many people like that, but when I do I just move on and leave them to it.

Funny this comes up.

Saw a jackass in local that was talking about how he killed `some noob` in his Cobra. This guy piloting an A-Fit Fed Drop.

So I jumped in with my Vulture and started sniping his Ana/Python bounties. After the 5th or 6th one, he got super y and started firing on me. Dipped behind a roid and watched the two dozen or so NPC's shred him.

It was glorious.

I sure would like to have seen that.

I personally boost about 10km away from the RES centre just above the asteroid belt and if the player follows me I will comms asking why and fire a few warning shots into space above them.
If they return fire I either run or fight depending on how I feel my chances are. If they don't fire or reply on comms I boost back to the centre and to the opposite side. If they are still following me then I will open fire since all they want is to steal bounties.

In my mind it gets any confrontation out the way early, gives them enough chances to talk/stay away and even if I open fire I still feel like they are the aggressor if they followed me 30km around the RES site.

It's been less of a problem since I got my Combat Python though since most things die before anyone has a chance to steal the kill :D

There's plenty of room around a RES - if he nicks one kill it maybe he didn't see you. If he ignores a polite message then live with it or just line him up with a 4 pips to systems and press tab gentle gesture (assuming you have sufficient yourself)
The hint is normally taken.

Combat Python = Win

I usually ask if they want to wing up and share the joy....works more often than not. Other wise don't worry about it move on.

Yah, when I started getting into the combat a couple weeks ago I'm sure I swooped a few, but that was out of complete ignorance. I just thought the cash would be divvied up by amount of damage done, or something. Once I realized, I stopped. A friendly chat would have been welcome. But if that doesn't work, frag 'em.

Keokil I think your mis understanding my use of bounty swooping. That is where he swoops in front of me to get me to shoot then and peg me with a wanted level. I don't even care about them competing with me for bounties ill get a few of my own how ever when you cheat to get me a bounty so you can shoot at me. GRRRRR!

I kinda figured those were how other players dealt with these guys. I have my own methods now though i turn off my weapons and launch chaff while they trying to get in there way as much as possible eventually that ticks them off and if they fire at me i do the hide in the asteroids while the NPC'S toast them. Thats if i cant take them my self!

Yep.

How I sometimes handle people who are intentionally trying to get me wanted.
Step 1 is usually to comm them, which can lead to wing formation. If I get no response, the next step depends on the quality of spawns (Simply - how much do I want to stay here). If it's less desirable instance - I leave, if it's ok or better - I attempt to make some space, or if I'm in a wing, I'll kill them and accept the cost and my wingmate(s) can keep the instance alive.
It can be quite territorial affair hehe

Edit to clarify, now that I'm actually able to edit.. yes, I'm that new >.>

I said kill them, often i can be just a mere 'roughing up' and chasing away with killing usually being reserved for the people who give the wrong vibe or are just unpleasant.

I feel ya.. Most of the time i think it's me bumping into others or they don't notice they just got in front of me and next thing i now I got 5 ships shooting at me. As far as people complaining about dieing. When I see that red wanted on my screen I think fun fun fun. bounty. fun. fun. dont like it pay your fines.
