Boycott the new CG in Elektra

Havent touched the story in weeks. Its just one wack CG after another. It'll probably pick up later though because that what ED has been designed to do. It makes you grind, and wait, and grind, and wait some more until finally something mediocre happens, and if you're lucky something kind of awesome will happen at the end of it.

Grinding for the Vette was more fun than Thargoids.

It has Imperial funding and personnel but it stands apart from the Empire. An 'order' from Aegis is not an order from the Emperor. When she says fight, we'll fight. But not before. Until then, we'll hope that someone is able to communicate with them.

If CG's represented 10 or maybe even 20% of the method for advancing the narrative, this might be acceptable. There should be another 4 or 5 methods by which we move forward. Using CG's as the sole method for moving the story on is rubbish, maybe even shear laziness.

Maybe FD simply lack ideas.

I'm not really boycotting. Just not participating.

Hopefully beyond brings more. The Thargoids were very cool at first but not much has occurred. We just received a new skin and new USS with more Thargons.

That is a very healthy take on the CG. These Thargoid combat CGs are the first CGs I ever participated in because the rest felt completely soulless. Yet I didn't start a boycotting thread every time... You don't like it? Just don't go there, no problem. Don't try to make it an issue of personal belief and similar crap, it is a game we're playing.

It seems you don't understand then ^^ We have a choice to paticipate or not in this CG, and FD already made that choice for many of us by having thargoids kill restricted to wings or hardcore PvP players.

It is not that we don't like it, it is that we don't want this crap again in a game we enjoyed before. You can like fetching quests if you want, but personally I don't want fetch quests to be the only way to make the currently very light story advance further. And we're not even sure if doing Cg and their different tiers have a real impact on the rewards (equipments and such, not the money you get at the end of the CG)

I actually think we agree. I absolutely hate the story progression through CGs and I detest fetching CGs, this is why I never participated in any of them before. I just think there is enough to be seen in Elite not to feel the need to cry about all the CGs I don't like - I won't be participating in them, like RagingxPenguin is not participating in this one.

I'm also not participating in this CG for the CG, not at all. I'm participating because it creates a perfect environment (both by being a CG and by the nature of the enemy) for the people to gather in one place and team up and cooperate in fights that are actually FUN. And this is ultimately why I play games, to have fun.

The one thing that comes to mind here is. We have only seen two types of Thargoids and we have attacked them on sight what happens when a mothership turns up bigger than a space station and armed to the teeth and automatically considers us hostile?

By angering the hornets nest expect trouble.

While I can't say exactly what's going to happen when the motherships turns up, I can tell you it's going to be totally awesome :D

Hey, indeed we agree ^^
I guess I'm mostly disapointed by 2.4, being hyped as player-driven narrative and mysterious alien interaction when all we have is fetching CGs and "top 1 % of fighters" thargoids.

I did participate in a few in the past, for money in the beginning days and for equipments (like CRCRs) later on, and alredy didn't enjoy it much. I occasionally play with friends but they don't play much and enjoy some adventures in Open but I'm mostly a Solo player, I don't interact much usually with other CMDRs.

Yup, back to wait and hope again... I'm actually not awaiting them anymore, almost expecting to be disapointed and that is just sad ^^

It was halted early, officially due an intermittent bug with the research limpets. Will be considered complete at tier 1 when the other CG finishes, which means the new weapons will be available at military planetary bases.
