Community Event / Creation BRC/TWH present: Hermaszewski Celebration Race

What it won't do is charge without a fuel scoop.

It will charge at anything greater than zero. Including a non-zero number which rounds to zero in the UI. I have tested this quite extensively.

very interesting. So with low integrity it will only change the time it needs to super charge huh?

- And didnt know that about fuel scoop either.

Good tip about fuel scoop and charging - never knew that. Glad to see more entries, I'll be doing some rounds today too!

Aken's 45:44 buries my dreams of being 1st though :D

...

I've noticed that such tests can be rather expensive if you choose your ship poorly. Got thrown out of supercruise inside a cone once. Not a good place to be stuck in. If you do, bring a lot of heat sinks.

45:44 is impressive. I've got a feeling I must do something creative to be able to match it.

Intent to race something or other. I ran out of time to get a run in Yggdrasil despite getting my blot done so hopefully Freyr will give me a boost on this race instead.

First I need to fly back from Ratatosk and decide what to race in this one. Probably my Adder but the runs are quite long in this one so maybe something else in the unlimited category.

The past week or so I have been addicted to swimming around in Subnautica so I could do with a break so I don't finish that too quickly.

First time buckyballer here. I submitted my times. During first ran I had poor performance all over the track and I hit the last place. On second try my first landing was disaster and I turned back. And finally at third try, I got somewhat decent time improving my first try almost three minutes. There's still lot to improve, but I managed to get past Dolphin and Asp with my Orca (43,17 LY jump range and 595 boost speed) with time 36:58.

You shouldn't worry that much about the competition when you're parading around in an Orca. What you lose in run time, you gain in sheer style. [yesnod]

Welcome!

Still lots of intent in the Adder class, still no submission ...

- launch (don't forget to refuel), jump (don't forget to refuel), jump (don't forget to refuel), land, launch, ARGGGH, goddam it! goddam it! goddam it!, back to start

Deep breath ...

- launch (don't forget to refuel), jump (don't forget to refuel), jump (don't forget to refuel), land, REFUEL, launch, jump, jump, jump, jump, jump ...

And then this happens!

And ... to add insult to injury, while I'm stubbornly flying around and around and around, quietly fuming, some goddam jobsworth Viper cop has the temerity to interdict me!

Seriously?!?!? Sorry pal but you picked on the wrong guy at the wrong time and now you're gonna pay!

Hah, that showed him!

Haha! It is a difficult track in a sense that you need to focus and don't forget to do the obvious like control your speed or refuel. Been there done that :D

In today's Free For All update, we welcome two Buckyball newcomers. First up was Cmdr Moonlord in the Orca Journey Into Oblivion. Despite one close encounter with a Beluga, the streamlined Orca fought its way through to become the fastest non-DBX so far, albeit by a margin of only one second.

A couple of minutes behind, we find Cmdr Morlokus in the Diamondback Explorer TWH-61 Black Moth. Starting his race in classic Buckyball style, by boosting into the wall next to the mailslot, Morlokus recovered to set a steady pace and come home in just under 39 minutes.

Meanwhile Adder class has seen a bit more action. In the lower reaches we welcome Cmdr Morlokus again, this time in TWH-61 Mirek. Reporting Beluga trouble along the way*, Morlokus completed the course just slightly behind his compatriot BialoBrody.

A little way ahead, Cmdr Mathias Shallowgrave has finally managed to submit a time in Nifty Swifter, with a fairly clean run setting a time of 49 and a half minutes. Forty seconds up the track we welcome another newcomer in the form of Cmdr Scarlet Yuri, of the Thargoid Racing Team. Despite reporting a not entirely clean run, Scarlet Yuri has nonetheless managed an impressive time to sit in a podium position for now. The race scrutineers are keen to point out that there is no evidence of Thargoid technology on Cmdr Yuri's Adder.

Finally, Cmdr Polly's creativity (she hasn't yet elaborated on the details!) has proven successful, enabling her to take the lead in Eitrtann with a margin of more than a minute and a half.

Well done all!

* The actual Google Translate result from Morlokus' comment is "Corks on one station (two Bielugi were pushed) :)". While amusing, I don't think Google has effectively explained the situation here :D

Ah, forgot about something.

It's my pleasure to announce that we have a prize for the winner of each category! It's a set of 5 cork coasters with Elite themed engravings on them!

And I won't until someone has beaten me or the race ends, because I'm a selfish ***This word got censored. Insert a suitable one of your own choice ***!

Google translate is our friend. Whatever you are writing, it turns it into something funny!
