Conveniently, that would be on theme.

"What in the world do you have in your mouth?" Frigg asked.
"This? It's a cigar. A Kamitra cigar, to be precise." Odin answered.
"I think it's on fire. And it smells terribly!"
"Well, yes. But it's supposed to burn and smell."
"Do you know it's coming smoke from your mouth when you speak? Are you on fire again? Should I fetch a bucket of water?"
"No, no! I'm fine. This cigar is actually a blot from one of my champions in the race."
"Strange thing to blot!"
"Well, I happen to like it!"
"But I don't! If it's going to keep smelling that way, you'll have to take it outdoors!"
"But..."
"Now!"
"Yes, dearest."
Later that night, a letter arrives at Skaði's house in the mountains of Jotunheim.
Dearest Skaði!
I hope everything is well with you and the wolves. I know you are preparing for the skiing season and I hope you new sponsor can supply that particular ski wax you wanted. If they can't, I'll send you whale oil and fish scales like I did last year.
I also have some great news. It isn't official yet, but I happen to know that my champion, CMDR Timmy Brabston, is leading the Squirrel! I can't wait to see how Thor will react when he realizes this. If possible, cheer on the good CMDR from me if you see him in Jotunheim!

It is not bad form to use software to help with route-plotting. I usually write/modify my own custom script when I'm in the mood for it. CMDR Alot had a tool that a bunch of people used, but I'm not sure where to find it anymore.Speaking of route planning, do any of you recommend a program or website that can do the travelling salesman thing and determine a route of shortest distance? Would that be considered bad form? I am having a bit of fun playing with the raikogram in excel.
I nearly always use CMDR Alot's EDTS command line tool for route plotting. It has a lot of options and once you have found the correct words to put in the correct places ("python edts -help" is a good place to start) it's very useful for finding out the number of jumps, critical jump ranges and so on. I guess I'm way too impatient for the MKI approachSpeaking of route planning, do any of you recommend a program or website that can do the travelling salesman thing and determine a route of shortest distance? An excellent choice!
However after doing some route planning I've realizing how many jumps this will take even with 50+LY capable ships. Maybe one flagon of mead per FSD charge is a bit much... one per race checkpoint then.

Intent to race! Beautiful artwork and nice theme, now I'll only have to decide which class to race in and what ship(s) to choose
For the battle cry I fear I can't come up with anything meaningful, each time I'm trying to think about it my subconscious just starts screaming "COOOKIES!!!" way too vehemently to allow any other thoughts![]()

Eh...It appears that the half-term special at Polly's Scandinavian Supply Shack in Nithhogg is flame-grilled eagle. Available in a choice of charred, blackened or ash. Yours for only the cost of a one-way ticket to Ratatosk (plus the downpayment on the loan for a new Eagle).
The funny thing is that Google almost translates that correctly!Hmmm... how about linking your subconscious to Google Translate?
Current location: Shinrarta Dezhra
Cargo: 0 x Buckyball Beermats
Mission: a very special blot
Status: End of day #3 - the mission (to toss the beer mats into the heart of a geyser) has been abandoned as, after approx. 5 hrs of searching, I've still not been unable to locate any geyers on Frey 4 C A. I'm now docked at Jameson Memorial so I can outfit an appropriate racing ship (make and model yet to be determined). Note doubt the gods will be disappointed that I have failed them but I hope my final blot will at least lessen their displeasure and allow them to think favourably of me when I put my metal to the test in the coming week.
Vér hyggja við gera þessi hlutr!
The word in Valhalla (and Alfheim) is that the Gods are very happy with all the blots. The effort you guys has put into is amazing! The human rights observers are also relieved that no one has bloted slaves so far. Let's keep it that way, shall we?
Now that my first run in the Road Racing Rally is finished, I'm in the process of collecting an epic Blot to the gods. I've loved following this race to far, the rules are a saga unto themselves, and the blots have been most magnificent!
Am I right in guessing that the Baldr system is also an acceptable one?
Now I'm not saying that "American Gods" (by Neil Gaiman) is a definitive source, but I just finished reading it, and Odin seems pretty big into human sacrifice. Just sayin...
The blot has been made. I hope with this to be worthy of the favour of your gods.

I humbly apologise for any improper use I may have made of the incredibly awe-inspiring music by Wardruna. ("Solringen" seemed moderately fitting though)
Also, Edtracker FTW!![]()
