What are we at, day four? Day five of the BBR4 and there's just hint of life in the leaderboard! CMDR Freebird in his trusty Sidey
Dolores pulled into Chango Dock a couple tons shy in the liquor department but managed to document his stops at Freeport and Azeban with some truly excellent selfies taken mooning Federation "patriots" in the empty loading docks where the booze used to be. That's good enough for us. He also gets to partake in that long held and revered tradition of knocking me down a peg on the board. Thanks for nothing, Free!
CMDR Cheetah in the
Sleeper Awakescontinues to close on Katzenfalconburger's
Booze Cruiser but the Cobra MK III just might not have the sprinting distance to catch up to the Viper. But Cheetah's sure going to make it tough for any other Cobras who attempt to catch him.
Speaking of which I was once again thwarted by the solar storms and nav network failures which continue to run rampant through the galaxy. I will continue to try at least once a day, but so far I'm a big fat 0-for-4.
But, at least I didn't run into the gents described by CMDR Weatherwax skulking around Freeport trying to ruin peoples' fun. Dave, was there any damage to the
Radius? That could be an expensive hit. Rest assured we at the Buckyball Run sympathize with your plight and wish to make a contribution to its restoration. You get an free Buckyball Run bumper sticker to replace any that might have been damaged during the engagement.
In other news. CMDR Cogg-Willoughby was seen skulking about the launch pad at Chango. Willoughby, a veteran of the third Buckyball Run, was part of a tight race in the Sidewinder class where he was the first to break the 20 minute mark by coming up with an inventive route. The dapper gent took off from Chango Dock for the fourth run in his Sidewinder
Little Lifeman but has yet to return. Hopefully he hasn't fallen afoul of the bandits at Freeport or the unsightly rip in the fabric of space and time affecting so many of us.
There is now apparently a lack of booze at Eranin. With everyone trying to aid Azeban in spreading the liquid cheer of their 30th year of independence, they've run out. One would expect more, but with all of the fighting going on around there, they might not be able to collect enough mash to keep the stills running.
So, as with Freeport, all racers need to do is stop at Eranin and take a screenshot of the market to show a lack of alcohol and the checkpoint will count as cleared.
This race just seems to be snakebit, folks. Sorry for all the trouble we're having, but there are still four days left to race. And for those having trouble with their connections but still wanting to complete the Run, there's always this option:
