Bug? and is this normal?

Bug: I was doing an Odyssey power on mission (also put out fires). I got the power back on and decided to access a terminal for container codes before putting fires out and looting. Suddenly my monitor went black and a voice over said my ship had been destroyed. I had landed on the landing pad, so, I am assuming that base defences destroyed my ship? Anyway my monitor came back and I could not move but I could see my arms and legs moving around. It seems my head was on the ground and immovable but I could still move my legs and arms although if I moved them out of view then who knows wherre they were I guess this bug was triggered by the combination of me being on the terminal and my ship being destroyed (maybe I was connected to the ship whilst using the terminal?)

Is this normal: So, I logged out. Logged back in and I was still at the settlement. No Power and the item I used to restart the generator was no longer in my posession (since I already restarted it before logging out). So, I just waited until my oxygen ran out.

Question, I think I saw a youtube video where somebody ordered a "taxi" without using a terminal. Is that possible.

The ship being destroyed wasn't a bug, if you bring power back online without disabling security it will destroy your ship. Getting stuck yeah that is a bug, a rare one I think, restarting will reset the base so yes everything will be back to power off.

Yes you can order a taxi from a planet surface, you may need to move a distance outside the base though, not sure on calling a taxi to a powered off base, can always try using the Apex tool in the Q menu. If that doesn't work you can leave the base area and get picked from the planet surface.

You should have gotten a message. Ship under attack. There's lots of ways to have your ship killed at settlements. You can park illegally but they can also drop raiders in and they'll take your ship out if you're not around. I usually would dismiss my ship when not in it to avoid this but you can if your shields are OK dismiss it when you get the message.

Rule 1: Never land on a landing pad without requesting landing permission. Doesn't matter if the settlement is abandoned, dark, and cold; it's still an infraction and the settlement defences shall destroy it if someone turns the power back on.

Rule 1: Never leave your ship unattended where some opportunistic pirates can shoot at it. Dismiss it or leave it 300+ meters away from the settlement, preferrably behind a hill with no direct line-of-sight to the settlement. And always 4 pips to the shield.

Rule 1: Pay attention to the upper right HUD for important information.

And lastly, Rule 1: Never fly without a rebuy.
