Bug Fixes & Other Necessary Changes/Updates Meta-Wishlist

What I'd consider necessary that hasn't been mentioned:
  • Smaller animal hitboxes. Please. Nothing is more annoying than spending the time to build something an animal should clearly be able to fit in only to find out it somehow can't and you have to destroy half your work.
  • Enrichment items expanded to animals that should be able to use them but (still) currently can't.

  1. Give tapirs the ability to deep dive
  2. Fix the clouded leopard jumps so that it's not slow motion
  3. Gives orangutans the ability to brachiate
  4. Accurate West African lion remodel
  5. Allow emus to be walkthrough
  6. Fix the okapi's walking animation
  7. Allow grided building pieces to be merged into groups
  8. Drastically lower space requirements for habitat reptiles and, especially, the platypus.
  9. Allow elevated feeders to be filled by staff
  10. Raise giant panda species appeal to be highest in game so they draw the same crowds they do in real life
  11. Fix the multi axis movement - ever since the update when you have one arrow or axis highlighted it will end up moving another axis than the one you have highlighted
  12. Adapt the animal market in challenge mode for the addition of DLC animals. The prblem is that the market was balanced for the base game, but not for the addition of DLC animals. As we now have more than double the amount of species we had with only the base game, this issue cannot be ignored anymore: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...courages-players-from-buying-new-dlcs.614364/
  13. Rename West African lion to just lion or northern lion
  1. Accurate Malayan tapir remodel
  2. Allow staff paths to be null paths
  3. Allow pathing to be saved in blueprints
  4. Enable elevated null paths
  5. Enable thinner staff paths
  6. Allow all other apes (gorillas, chimpanzees, bonobos) to have brachiation
  7. Male animals that don't need to swim stay out of the water
  8. Do NOT allow Giant Anteaters to be walkthrough
  9. Reduce the space requirements for the Hippopotamus
  10. Rename the African Buffalo to Cape Buffalo, as this represents the Cape buffalo subspecies
  11. Enable climbing for Chinese pangolins
  12. Fix traversable area and climbable slope for the monitor lizards.

One small constructive criticism. How do you split the "necessary" and "not necessary but good" categories? I'd wager some from either group can be placed in the other. Maybe it is best to just merge them or think of a different type of split?

Necessary:

fix the annoying flickering vegetation issue when a burrow cam is actively projecting on a screen in the zoo. As it stands, the feature is unusable.

Make elevated feeder usable as an actual elevated feeder instead of having to put it on the ground (related, make it so staff can climb ladders and access enrichment feeders that are on elevated climbing equipment).

Hippo space requirement more similar to real-life zoos. As it is, they are hard to use because of the humongous space requirements.

Not necessary but good:

Fix western chimp social systems so they aren't identical to gorillas. The former can have multiple adult males within a family group.

Fix the problem with shelters (and habitats) having to be unrealistically large, even for small mammals. I know animal hit boxes are an issue and maybe there's a trade off between this and another persistent issue--animals clipping through barriers and alerts that animals within irregularly shaped barriers are escaped when they aren't.

Smaller rocks and plants available for use in smaller habitats (without looking silly eating up all the traversable space).

Love the idea of cheetah lure coursing/chase enrichment. I remember seeing a feature of how they use these at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

Better staff interaction with/anticipation of weather. It's frustrating that they fill the outside feeders (for warm weather animals) right as a bout of cold weather is starting, forcing a welfare issue when animals have to go outside in the cold to eat (in spite of empty indoor feeders), or vice versa for cool weather animals during heat waves.

Water that can be edited to be "contained" by fountains etc. that are above ground

Viewable burrows that can be seen through glass sides of enclosures instead of just on burrow cams.

I think this is solveable with more 'burrow-like' enrichment. Nest boxes and the like would be great to have, small objects that count towards shelter but don't take into consideration hitboxes since they are animation-based rather than free-movement based. You could even disguise them in walls to make it look like the animals are moving to and from backstage areas via tiny openings.

Yeah, I was thinking that myself. I may just lump it all together

I'm so sorry, y'all, for not updating this sooner. Going through some things. Today is actually the 1-year anniversary of when my maternal grandfather died, so I'm not at my 100%
Take your time my friend. I lost my grandfather and childhood dog in a 1 week span in late 2020 we’re here for you
