[BUG] I can't bind F7 to anything!

Over the years, my most common cause for being unable to bind ED keys has been an Nvidia GeForce Experience update re-grabbing all of its default hotkeys despite my having customised them more times than I can count. If you're a GeForce user, that would be the first place I'd look.
Have you tried tested binding F7 to anything this week?
I have no software that's "stealing F7" away

Yes, before I posted my reply after seeing your post, and again just now to make sure I wasn't imagining things the first time.
Have you made sure that your F7 key actually works?
I've found the solution - it's indeed TrackIR!
I have to make sure ALL keybinds for TrackIR do not have the box "TRAP" checked. It will "trap" that keybind and block it for all other programs that are running - including simple text programs!

yes, I have mouse button mapped to F7 for years.
What is NOT working - F10. That is another mouse button - it does what I set in game but in addition it does screenshot. So better don't use F10 or you will find out 200 Gbs of pictures 1 year later
