Bugs prevent human from being able to win

I was playing in Open last night doing a low xeno conflict zone by myself and it still didn't progress! Blowing up scouts forever and ever and ever. Makes the war impossible to win.

Does anyone know if anyone is looking at these issues?

I did a planetary port defence last night, solo, and completed it, took a couple of hours...
That's good that it sometimes works then. In my case the progress bar moved to begin with and then ceased moving for no obvious reason.
I did a mission the other day to take down power which I did with my brother and it didn't register that I had the power regulator so I could never complete the mission.
It seems 50/50 as to whether you can actually make progress or complete anything. Very irritating.

Add to that several other issues:
  • Invisible scouts that can be hit only by tracking them when they are selected as active target
  • Invisible interceptors that are marked on radar and are selectable but nothing can be done to them and only sounds plays out when you close in
  • Getting permanently disabled by interceptor - ship not returning to normal after several minutes despite seeing properly fight that is ongoing nearby with other players, forcing player to relog (after relog almost all modules are turned off)
  • EDIT: Add immortal scouts to that as well...
Also
  • Thrusters locked at 150ms until relog due to interceptor lightning attack
  • Cannot boost Engines disabled message flashing on screen until relog due to shutdown field
  • Interceptor initiates shutdown field, pilot engages Shutdown Field Neutralizer. All seems well till shutdown occurs 5 seconds later due to lag
  • Interceptor flees at ludicrous speed due to compounding rubberbanding
  • Interceptor rubber bands into pilots ship instantly destroying it
  • Thargoid initiates interdiction, gets frozen, pilot is stuck in empty interdiction for over a minute
I'm done playing for a few weeks at least. I'm on DSL and while not terrible for what it is, ping at 80 and download at 70-90mbps, people are having lots of troubles with an excellent connection. There is fiber freshly laid under the street just outside and I'm waiting till it goes live. They said early December but there's a foot of snow out there so who knows. I hope we'll have a better goid scanner by then. On second thought, I'll probably do some exploring, but I'm staying the hell out of goid instances.

It's preposterous that you'd even think that you'd need something like a fibre connection. Such a meagre amount of data is being transferred - there should be no lag or rubberbanding.

I'm not saying fiber is necessary. Right now my only option is DSL and the second option to become available is fiber, once they finish the inferstructure and it goes live. Even my current DSL connection is mostly fine for other games and though sometimes a lag spike will get me killed, it usually doesn't break the game unless I'm playing EDO.

What I'm most concerned about is the fact that FDev doesn't commit to bug squashing at all. We get new content and half of it is either not working or works with workarounds and multiple tries. Bugs keep piling up with every update. It looked promising when the new Issue tracker popped up but it soon became evident that FDev's bug squashing momentum is very limited.

I'm using a fiber connection (1 Gbps download / 1 Gbps upload), and while it's awesome to be able to dowload and upload large video files in mere seconds, it does not really seem to help with lag in ED. :)

Hi guys, i'm really disappointed regarding how bugs make it impossible to win in the Thargoid war:

* Thargoid Combat zone bug:
Infinite scouts waves is an old bug, preventing the possibility to end and win the CZ. Unfortunately Frontier didn't correct this before launching a completely Thargoid orientated story... Human can not win since AX CZ never ends most of the time.

* Yesterday, with multiple commanders the Hydra just vanished with its 4 remaining hearts. Here again, impossible to finish the CZ and win.

* Jump to star toward Thargoid systems bug:
Sherry on the cake, just to really ruin the game experience, since update 14, when the ship jumps toward thargoid system, everything seems fine, correct amount of fuel is removed from tank, but after jump you are still in the departure system. Since update 14 each time you go toward Thargoid, you have to jump twice to make 1 jump.

Please Frontier, fix this
There is another bug where the Goid is invisible and can not be hit. Sometimes Goids appear below the surface of the planet.

It's not the connexion speed but the latency that is important here. xDSL is about 20~120ms latency. Fiber 2~5ms latency. This makes a huge difference when you need to send a lot of small data packets in a short period of time.

70 - 90? I’m on around 40 and it’s usually fine. I did get some rubber-banding in a Low CZ when a LOT of CMDRs were present fighting a Hydra. That thing was freaking teleporting about the place!!

That still cannot always help because it's p2p so it's not only your connection it depends on.

That's pretty much the point of me sitting out till I get a better connection. I am not helping anyone's instancing with my connection right now. It shouldn't be a big deal since I should never be chosen to host an instance or however it works, and if I happen to start an instance it should get handed off to whomever enters it with a better connection than I, but clearly the game has troubles with this. I should never have mentioned that I am soon upgrading to fiber. I should have just said that I am upgrading from DSL. Anything but cellular or satellite (I'm not talking about Starlink which is not available in my area, but GEO sats which generally have 500ms latency) is better than DSL.

IMO fighting around large starports (as shown in both your screenshots) should be avoided. There are issues with interceptors, items/mats, even capital class ships all somehow getting trapped in the station's rotation field and warping around the battlefield. Stick with outposts (using a small/medium ship) or planetary settlements (for a large) if you want to be able to rearm/repair during the fight.
