I have all 4 of the classic exploration ships, DBX for tight spots, Phantom for general comfortable exploration, ASP X for an unrestricted view, 'conda for outright range.

Dock on a carrier or station with Vista Genomics (for exobiology) and/or Universal Cartographics (for exploration data). You can see some details about the data you are carrying and optionally sell it a bit at a time or a page at a time. How can I see how many I have scanned and are availble for me to turn in? I checked the codex in panel 4 but I just can't seem to find it.
Do you not keep an old school XL sheet or even older, a bit of paper in your cockpitThere's no way to find this information on my ship in the field? I looked in the Codex and while I could see specimens I'd already turned in, I couldn't see which I have scanned and are waiting to be turned in. There's absolutely no record of this to be had until I step in Vista? That's almost as stupid as not giving us any trade data until we've visited the system and then there being no searchable record of it anyway. Or am I not looking in the right place in game?
Just saw a video on YT with someone bio scanning/sampling from their ship. Is this really possible? He pulls up close, the composition scanner tops out and he's got it?

Stick with the Asp. You need to start unlocking Guardian equipment.Looking for suggestions on how to improve my exploration/exobiology, currently using this AspX . I have $70 million credits and this ship to work with. Looking to improve my jump range.
Do I have enough to go with a better ship? I've seen people talking about Dolphins, DBX, etc. Or should I focus of getting the engineered FSD and Guardian FSD Booster?
Or is this not enough for a substantial move and I should focus on accruing cash before doing anything?
TIA
So, just to be clear... you composition scan to save you from getting out of the vehicle unnecessarily.... not because you think you've already turned it in and won't get paid on it, yes?....if you haven't scanned that species before.
I do both, scan before I land (or from the SRV before I get out) then find the three samples. Sometimes it's not easy to tell two similar looking plants apart, the comp scanner means you can check before you go on foot to scan it.

If we find a particular species on one planet and turn it in, then find it again on another planet... Vista will still buy it at the same price, yes?
Yes, the composition scanner can scan all sorts of things, not just living organisms. But the payouts are tiny. Artemis suit on foot with the bioscanner hand tool can pay tens of millions. They are two separate game mechanisms, the comp scanner is base game/horizons content & will update your codex stats & give you a small amount of cash. Exobiology data is a separate thing with the three samples & Artemis suit & all that. The Comp scanner will also work on geo stuff (and notable stellar phenomena, alien stuff etc). The bio scanner on your Artemis suit is only for exobiology and is Odyssey only content.
Vista will buy all completed samples from you at their standard price no matter how many planets you find that species on. The only price difference you will find is if you are the first person to find that species on that planet then they will offer you a bonus equal to 4 times the price paid for the sample which can earn you just under 100,000,000 credits for a single completed sample. So, just to be clear... you composition scan to save you from getting out of the vehicle unnecessarily.... not because you think you've already turned it in and won't get paid on it, yes?

It used to be, but then FD broke the economy. It's interesting that money is not the grind in this game.
