Buying a new ship.

The Type 6 can't do battle, well apart from head butting other ships to death!

If you just want to try exploring even a hauler can make 30 ly jumps if you outfit it right. Once a way out of the bubble you don't have to worry about other ships. Try a small trip in whatever ship you want to some of the nearby nebulae's or go out to VV Cephei or similar. Just to see if you like it. Remember to ADScan each system at least so you make some money.

So, I went ahead and stripped my trusty Viper down to the bones. I cried a little on the inside.
But now, I'm the proud owner of a new DBS! Had a surprising amount of money of money left, and now it's almost fully kitted. Made it, just before the servers went offline:D

Good choice. You can also explore a bit in it, obviously for that role it's not as good as it's big brother. And albeit with the funds you had available you could have purchased a DBX, but you would have ended up with insufficient funds to kit it out appropriately. And then there's always the question if enough money is left over for insurance.

Nice! I was thinking about going for a Diamondback of some kind recently, until I realised I had enough cash for the Vulture.

I bought the DBS, went to Merope, forgot my scanner. Hopped over to Maia, and BOOM- two smuggling missions to the same system, earning me a pretty little sum of about 3.2 mil.
Now I'm back at Founder's World, rethinking my choices forward.

As for the Scout..it's a nice, agile ship, but I can't but feel that it just sort of...lacks personality.
And I still haven't gotten my free Viper!
