Bye all

I'm currently chasing neutrons at the bottom of the galaxy about 2000 ly out.
.
The scary bit for me is when you are jumping beyond your full fuel range (currently about 34.5 LY in a well stripped down Asp). For example you are on half a tank to get a 35.5 ly jump to cross a void (not many stars down here) but the route planner won't find your way back because you have jumped beyond your full fuel range. So if you forget to make notes on how you got in you could get stuck in a bubble of stars off the edge of the galaxy and not know how to get back home!
.
And yeah - watch out for the gravity well around those neuton stars and white dwarfs.
.

The quickest way to lose fuel if you over-scoop and end up unable to do return jumps is just to jump back and forth between your current system and another at the limit of your range. The 5A FSD in the Asp uses 5T(!!!) max per 35Ly jump, so you can lose 10T just by doing a "there and back" jump. Done that once to get further in a straight line. Usually I splash'n'dash when scooping, but I went AFK for "2 minutes" and came back 20 minutes later to an Asp with a full tank drifting away from the star. At least it was away from... :)

Sounds nerve wrecking to me. Making that long jump without knowing for sure you will be able to scope and make away. Good luck on your journeys!

Good man! You might be able to confirm the rumours that on the other side of the Galaxy (Far, Far, Away) There is a black hole which, if entered, takes you to Elite Dangerous 10 space!.....Spooooky!

Been on the far side for a good week and a bit now. Said black hole seems to have eluded me thus far...

If anyone else has any luck - let me know, I'd love shortcut!

you made 30Mcr scanning all systems between civ to Sag A* or by quick scan?

I scanned everything advanced discovery scan and detailed surface scan for the first 3000 ly, after that I scanned everything
with Advanced discovery scan and only used detailed surface scan on the main star and those close by, and earth like worlds.
If i would have scanned everything with both advanced and detailed ,the trip would likely take 4 weeks +

I don't know whether to admire your persistence or hate you for having the opportunity! Student? Not married perchance? Either that or rich enough to have time for both. Have some rep either way! :)
Not student and not married anymore (happened before Elite), and definitely not rich !
Everyone have to go to Hutton Orbital and Sagittarius A at least once !!

So i've taken off in my brand new anaconda and hope this time i'll read the other side of the galaxy.
Last time i got forced back to inhabited space when i was 2500 ly past Sag A.

I'm going to travel to the other side of the galaxy.
If you never hear from me again than i accidentally flew into a black hole.
anyone has some ideas about were to go? ATM I'm 500ly outside populated space.
Not that far but it will come haha

Well, you are braver than I am. Although I got the Ranger rank, I never travelled more than 3k Lys away from civilization in one trip. But perhaps I will join you in July, due to the lack of additional content in the near future...
May the force be with you!
