Bypass shields and ignore MRP?

Thanks for the ideas. I'll add another MRP since I currently only have 1 on this build and I don't know what else to do. I thought of this while reading your replies, this happens with more than 1 opponent around so its possible the fletchettes are coming from another source other than the target I'm engaged with.
Very likely, yeah. If it's flechette, an extra MRP would definitely help. And glad to help.
 
Did you check subsystems or ask the guys who are shooting at you? It's always a better idea to find your information from the source instead of working on speculations based on vague descriptions of the situation.

After a few of these battles I got back to the station without ever losing shields and looked at my modules (sorry if I was not clear that I looked at my own modules). No hull damage. 7 or 8 modules reduced to 40-50% integrity and the MRP still has integrity (around 50%). The crew trying to send me to the rebuy screen don't like me so I wouldn't trust their answers no matter what they said.
 
So check their subsystems so you will at least know what weapons they carry :D

Everyone I've asked so far has told me what went down, just because they are trying to gank you doesn't mean that they would lie or are bad persons irl :D

Excellent suggestion. I need to make that effort in the heat of battle while it's going down.
 
What laser based weapon wrecks mods (no hull damage) through shields and ignores MRP?

This has happened to me several times at the CG this week at the hands of different opponents, different groups. One guy in a cutter, another in a vette. They shower me with what looks like pulse and/or burst lasers and my modules melt as if my shields are down. My MRP still has integrity which has me confused. I was going to add another MRP but I dont think that will help.

There is absolutely no laser based weapon except for the NPC (!) ATRs that spawn for high notoriety players. These are Vultures though with a cascade pulse laser (station lasers, basically) and will only damage your shield generator.
Other than that, torpedos and mines do have this effect too.
Furthermore, the flechette launcher pierces shields completely and deals 13 hull and 6 module damage to internal and external modules caught in the explosion radius alike.
Phasing sequence doesn't do any hull damage unless you are below ~40% hull, which then can cause canopy damage.

No other weapon or effect can pierce shields.
