Engineers Cadmium / Selenium

Seems like I'm always running short on these mats. As top of the ladder G4 raw mats its even more difficult to trade for them, which means I spend a lot of time in the srv and it's usually because of these. Does anyone know why so many blueprints require these? At least a lot of the blueprints I use have these ingredients. Maybe I'm weird that way.

Ftr, cadmium is below ruthenium, which is very easy to get at the Anaconda in Orrere.

I saved the charts from the notes in the OP here, in order to keep it straight:

I don't think there's a "reason" really.

Plenty of Selenium on Deciat 9B (I think), also a bit of Cadium. I was filling up on Selenium and trading it into Cadium as I was collecting Cadium.

Go looking specifically for something else, the universe will realise and shower you in Selenium (I'm obviously being facetious, but I swear to god, as soon as I rage out and go farm something else, all of a sudden I get everything I wanted last session!).

I've been trying to get FDev to revisit several plans, primarily Efficient weapons - OC Powerplant etc, that use Selenium and a few other mats because, as you've found, the prevalence of their materials simply doesn't line up with the amounts the plans need. They really need a repass.

I gathered a ton of Selenium at LHS 417 9 E A
LAND AT 65.78 X 84.82 as it's flat and plentiful.

Noatiaca 1 yielded me a lot of Cadmium as well as Tungsten etc.

Went to HIP 16498 B 4 c a last night looking for Selenium but also got a fair bit of Cadmium as well.

As you are on Inara the best thing to do is add all your favorite blueprints on there and then using the "View my missing components" menu it will let you know what you need for all your upgrades.

Both these elements are used in overcharged PP, Dirty drives, Efficient weapons and probably others that I don't use.

I prefer this crashed Anaconda:
Koli Discii C 6 a at 28.5777, 7.2193

The cargo racks are easier to get at since it's not nearly as hilly at the site.
I am getting the same raw mats etc. as you get at the one in Orrere everyone goes to.
Orrere is great but you have to admit it's a giant pain the youknowwhat to drive up and down those hills chasing mats rolling down them

Good tips, duly repped.

Also just at the top of a cliff at this site is an abandoned base. No mats like Davs hope but a datapoint is there. Its grade 1 data but its no hassle to scan so.......
