Calaos are missing

The calaos are hornbills in Spanish, and yes they are amazing birds, incredibly popular in zoos, and as 99% percent of all bird species are currently missing from the game. It will be very interesting to see how Frontier approaches this, as much faith as I have in them, I can see them pulling this one off, unless a completely different approach to the current DLC format is implemented. Birds account for the majority of species in almost every zoo, the only major zoo in the world that I have visited that had a moderate collection, was Singapore Zoo, and that is only because the had the second largest bird park in the world and had most of their collection there. So many birds, it opens the possibilities for inclusions to wide for Frontier. Just thinking about hornbills, I could fill up almost an entire three years worth of content.

Absolutely, there is not a single reason for both ground hornbills to need any new animations. The same way flamingos are already in the game, (they even fly small distances in the game already) The two African ground hornbills should be even easier to include. I have never understood why the game does not have a much larger quantity of birds that fit this pattern, it is just mind boggling, especially when this species make up for the largest representation in zoos.

Agreed, even if we are forced to forego parrots and birds of prey, it would be nice to see some more "ground-dwelling" birds like the ground hornbills in the game. I've also been wanting to see something like the Himalayan monal - I've seen them sharing habitats with red pandas before and it's a beautiful effect. And of course I made a thread about guinea fowl - I'd love to have some guinea fowl running around my African habitats.

Both species you mention would be highly welcomed right now, the monals would be great, and the guinea fowl is long overdue, to have them running around African habitats, will definitely spice things up, and I think just like the Capuchins became an unexpected highlight of SA pack, the same will happen with those small birds. I still also believe that Parrots and such can be added in that looping animation you mentioned, they would be ideal as ambassador animals in zoo presentations and so on. African vultures would fall under the same category as Flamingos and Ground Hornbills. Most of the time vultures are just perched on top of broken trees, etc, this birds are not flying all over the zoo, their wings are usually clipped. In any case, at this point based on everything I have seen i have no reason to think Frontier will not add many of this birds, HOW/WHEN/WHERE are the real questions.
