Caldari Safari Park - habitat merged error

I have been trying to create an enclosure for the Caldera Safari Park Career mode - Gold medal - 2 Lions in an enclosure. I saw what seemed to be an area that was kind of semi prepared with half a path at the back, a viewing platform and the adventure ride goes through it.
I did a glass barrier and connected it to some of the existing, that having looked closer, seems to go round the entire zoo. I built a staff path at the back where it looked like a small enclosure had previously existed.

However, I'm having a problem where when I try to install a habitat gate it flashes up a red warning saying my habitats are merged and to remove habitat gates.

I took a couple of screenshots from a YouTube Tutorial just so you know the location and where I'm trying to locate the staff path/habitat gate. He was putting the Cheetahs in the space but I'd already done mine elsewhere. There was no mention of any problems, other than putting an airlock into the track (but I figured that one out) so I assume an update has changed something?

What am I doing wrong? Would I need to build a barrier inside where there is existing barrier so it's all separate?

That's a hard one to look at and point out the specific problem but ... have you tried clicking on a barrier wall, and selecting the entire barrier? That should highlight what the game thinks is the whole enclosure and may tell you where the problem is.

Thanks. I'll have another look at it. Perhaps I missed a section somewhere. I've seen another tutorial where barriers are connected into the existing so it must be something I've missed.

Yeah, that can be done but sometimes it's tricky. Another option, if the barrier looks complete, is to remove and replace it and see if it registers properly that time.

Thanks very much. I'll have another look at it when I'm next able to play and see if I can get it working. At least now I know it's possible and it's just something not quite right that's causing the problem.
