Call of Duty: INFINITE WARFARE

Is it really that mediocre? Is G combat any fun? I was actually really excited for this, we were all talking how CoD IW will show Star Citizen how its done and all that... :(
I don't think the Vaporware MVP will ever reach beyond this. Campaigns are short now, because the production costs exploded for the 8th gen consoles and most people don't even finish the campaign.

Ok here is a quick review, I got some issues with my audio sync so no video this time as i don't want to spend time fiddling with it.

Graphics, ok but not mind blowing,
Audio, ok with head phones, but not in ED quality.

Character movements, ok but not very tactical (we knew that) everything is very fluent and nicely done, haven't seen any bugs.

A lot is on rails, to me that is a minus however I kind of expected it.
The flight model is very very arcady, but i can see beyond that because it's not a sim. A lot is on rails.

Game play in general is very fast pasted, and for an old gamer like me I die a lot LMAO!

Story is good, not to much cheesy stuff, so far I like the story and that was the reason for me to buy and play it.

However we don't know how spoiled we are playing ED, until now it's the ultimate space sim.

I just hope they will make the FPS more like ARMA than a fast pasted FPS, even SC is far far from a good tactical game.

I will upload a video as soon as i fix this audio issue.

Gotta say I'm really enjoying the campaign, haven't got to the space combat yet but I like it for what it is and definitely worth the €30 on cdkeys IMO. Graphics like Lysander said are good, but definitely not BF1 level, I found FPS very consistent.

I can run downsampled 4k at close to 60fps average on high settings which is great with freesync to make up for any small dips on my Fury and I7(although I prefer 1440p for the higher FPS) Definitely not a game to buy expecting any kind of sim, its an arcade experience FPS with a nice story set in space, if that's what your after its worth a buy. As for Multiplayer only FPS I really bothered with multiplayer was Planetside 2 which I found quite fun.

Well, I enjoy it too, and I like how they made the atmosphere on the main ship, the story until now is good.
I only got the game for the campaign, so far so good :)

Edit:
Ok completed the campaign in 12 hours including doing other stuff, that is one short campaign. I liked the story however for the money paid, I would not recommend it unless you will play the MP part of the game.

Wow.

Worth a Buy really didn't like that much did he? :)

This was very low down on the potential buy radar for me. I dithered on pre ordering but then my "wake the hell up" slapped me and said wait for reviews. As much as it galls me to say it but its clear that they were trying to tap into the hype generated by the SC behemoth and space in general. Rushed out something quick quick quick to generate some sales from a section of the community that wouldn't normally buy a COD game.

If you have a good idea, get it out fast , otherwise it becomes an old idea ...faster ... COD vs SQ42 debate

I doubt that space games are still a tiny niche compared to profitable behemoths like COD and you can see the negative reaction for yourself that Infinity ward got for going the futuristic route, I honestly think its something the devs wanted to do themselves and I for one am thankful for it . Worthabuy is coming at it from the point of view of a competitive boots on the ground FPS gamer, as a story and sci-fi experience the campaign is worth it IMO(and a lot of critics agree). Maybe don't buy until its out for a bit and on sale if your not into multiplayer FPS, but its still a decent game and certainly miles ahead of of a game that doesn't exist.

Absolutely. On the last sentence :)

I love my FPS games in general and multi player. I'm loving battlefield 1 at the moment and I think it's because they have gone back in time and not just in terms of the setting but they have simplified the gameplay in ways that made those older battlefields good. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if COD goes back to ww2 again soon. They'll need to steal the March on BF though as it wouldn't surprise me all if they get in there first.

I'm more a ARMA kind of guy, however they are also trying to make less and less campaigns, remember the good campaign stories Operation Flashpoint anyone?

Just to add if you are playing this game and looking to enjoy the spaceflight use a 360 pad, its 1000% more enjoyable than a mouse and keyboard, I find some of the sections very close to Freespace 2 in a lot of ways(obviously a very simplified version with no shield management etc).

Ok guys I had a chance to play COD IW and.....well FPS part is good as usual like in all cod games so nothing new there except that you are in the future and using some space-kalashnikov(for real),Graphics are nice and really well optimized, story line is kind a meh and a bit boring but cut scenes still looks and feels very immersive....now I play a bit flying part and I must said that it is arcadie offcourse but it works so good and its filled with action non stop...
I decide to record and show you below how well this game is actually optimized I was surprised when I tried to play this on my 3x monitor setup with my old GTX 660 TI with almost all on high/normal only AA was off....with Vertical Sync on FPS was mostly locked on 60 or close to this number....and yeah you can see in the first part some shooting in zero G and in second part some dog-fighting,don´t get me wrong ppl. not saying that this game is great but I do had some fun playing it so far and comparing it to what SC offers atm...well in my opinion...it´s miles ahead...enjoy...

I played this recently on a friends PS4 and thought it was incredibly boring.

Shooters like this used to be so much fun (UT, BF1942, BF2 and my alltime favourite BF Vietnam) , these games seem to have gone backwards in a big way.

I enjoy it too, however it was a very short campaign -12 hours and since I don't play the MP part of CoD it was a expensive purchase, but I don't regret it as I knew it could be like that.

Gave it a shot, 6/10 for the story and campaign, now back to Elite :D

About half-way of it, but not impressed atm, gameplay is bland and graphics are muddy (although my rig isn't top by nowadays standards).

I find it mediocre at best but still a nice effort from activision to try and cash in from the Space Hype, hope Andromeda will do better as both NMS and this one felt really really short, these kinda of pay, play a couple of hours and forget kind of games are a waste of Dev's time&effort. Steam reviews and Metacritic seem to agree with me whatever that's worth.

Personally it was the first game I ever got refunded on Steam. The PC version is easily the worst port I have ever paid £40 for. Not one refund in 12 years and then, boom.. this came along.

It wouldn't load.. then it loaded but crashed. Also it had no sound.
Then it crashed just before the 1st mission started. Still no sound.
Then it crashed part way through the 1st mission. Turns out to get sound I had to disable my 5.1 surround and use Stereo. [where is it] [haha]
Then i was able to play most of the first mission and with stereo sound! It was at this point I realised I had still wasted my money because it was BORING so gave it a break and played DOOM4 instead.
Next time it crashed, then it didnt have sound, not even in Stereo.
Then I got my money back.
