For the past few weeks, a team of the Federation's bravest and most committed commanders have been involved in a top secret undercover operation within Imperial space. These commanders have flown together and fought together as one under the codename of this mission - Operation Blossom.
The phase 1 objective of this operation has been to destabilise a key Imperial target location and push it to a point where the Federation can take control of the system. We have been forced to take these actions as our intelligence confirmed that the Empire were secretly using this system as a base of operations to launch an attack against the Federation.
The details of this operation have now been declassified and the original mission briefing document that was secretly sent to selected Federation Commanders can be viewed publicly for the first time. Note that some elements of this operation are still classified to protect the lives of our agents working out in the field.

However, as of last night our worst fears have now come true. The attack on the Federation by the Empire that this operation was trying so desperately to prevent has begun. The main imperial faction in Liaedin have expanded into the neighbouring system of Volungu and have started a war against the Federation. We can no longer defend the Federation against the threat of the Empire through this covert operation alone and are requesting all Federation commanders to come and aid us in this cause immediately.
My respected Federation Commanders, we must raise the Crimson Fortune Company's influence in Liaedin and force them to start a war in that system. We will then fight in that war against the Empire, we will fight as one and we will win.
Out of the ashes of The Battle for Liaedin, the Federation will be reborn. No longer will we be forced to hide in the shadows as the strength of the Empire grows.
For those commanders who are still searching for their purpose in this galaxy and finding the elusive goal of amassing personal fortunes in credits to be non fulfilling, I ask you to join the Federation and fight in this war alongside us.
I won't lie to you, the road ahead will be difficult. Expect strong resistance from the Empire who will not give up this fight easily. Imperial groups are already suspicious of what is happening here in Liaedin, they will try to stop you, they will threaten you but you must not falter in the face of this resistance. Update - Federation commanders, the absolute top priority right now is the official community goal at Jemison Refinery in Volungu known as "In Defense of Volungu". We need to complete this goal as quickly as possible to progress well into the next stage of this conflict. Doing well here will stand us in good stead for the next chapter of this story and I cannot stress enough the importance of this. Rally all the troops you can and head to Volungu and defend the Federation.
