Campaign to make trailblazers less of a grind.

I am going on sabbatical from elite until other activities contribute to colonization tons. Cheers everyone.
 
Yeah gotta admit it really feels like FDev's solution to every new mechanic since the start of elite has been "hauling".

Every time they can't think of a creative solution to any big in game narrative it somehow becomes Hauling something somewhere or scanning something, but most of the time, it's hauling. Always has been hauling, so many weird narratives where it was fixed by thousands of commanders hauling millions of tons of some random .

EXACTLY.
Rather than making it easier/faster to colonize, it would be better to add a reason to colonize. For instance, asking players to build AX/military installations in strategic systems to repel an invasion, with some danger while doing so and interesting rewards in the end.

Who wants to fly an armored hauler, bracing for murder flowers, or escort another commander flying a fat T9?
That would make me want to participate in the colonization effort.

This is the thing I find most funny about Trailblazers. It has actually introduced no new gameplay. Hauling has been in the game since launch. The only thing they've introduced is the ability to press buttons on the system map and planet surface to place some object, and let you pay to name them. That is some princely gameplay.
 
Well there is one upside. Assuming elite goes on for years to come. And that's the unknown element. How big will the bubble get? Will the bgs still be in play or be replaced by something better?
And of course your tagged colonys depicts who constructed them. Doesn’t mention the pmf buddies who helped with the ho hum drudgery of actually hauling the crap needed.
Elite 2 if it ever drops might well wipe the galaxial player content, who knows. Let's hope not.

But it's still hauling ? Just worded different . But then does it become more command and conquer ( for those in the know😉)
The thread was to make it less of a grind ( easier)
So now you are carrying less stuff so have to do more runs with a bigger chance of being interdicted which means it takes longer.
As I posted earlier you are building stuff so you need stuff to build with and that means hauling.

You dont have to build the stuff or even transport people to your new system .
Imagine if you had to build your own security fleet ? Trade ships ? liners to get people in ?

No they were there but its not persistent.? Or is it?
I mean a year or so from now it won't display the info
Allegedly it is permanent - but worth checking in a year to find out if this is true

ETA: The current list shows a couple more contributions from other players, as well as the original ones above, so appears to be dynamic, as well as permanent.

Itll be worth it if it is. I mean for those groups be them big or small, to show who partook. I assumed it would not persist.
 
Whilst I'm ingame with edmc running. As always, why isn't inara upto date? Seems woefully behind even though I imported data just after logging in.
Grrr.
 
Trailblazers needs more variation of implementation, and, informational interest. Not just that lovely fluff text we all know and love. But especially how certain starports interact and change an economy in combination, population and all that good stuff
However, everybody and their mum is doing it on a massive scale so thats a hit for frontier. And so nothing is likely to change, afterall it was sold as feature complete. I myself have stopped a couple of weeks ago. It's way too boring drudgery worklike and repetitive.
Cmdrs who are interested in the nuts and bolts of the workings of a system. Is that working correctly?

Not knowing what 'correctly' means generally... But mine has managed to stay low security (my objective) with some development - more will be discovered when I feel like going back and developing it some more. the system isn't going anywhere, so there is no rush to build it just because it is there. (it is just a hauling exercise after all, so won't degrade while I have a happy diversion blowing stuff up)
