Can anyone name this game?

I played a game in the early 90s - I think it was on the PC but also on the Amiga. It was a RPG where you wondered around a medieval town and you had some kind of quest as well that I never bothered much with as you could run around mugging people and generally being a pill, which was more fun. I only played it for 30 minutes or so as it was a friends game.

it was all in 1st person and I think it was maybe voxel rather than filled vector. I don't know. I meant to buy a copy but never got around to it as it wasn't my type of game and other things took priority.

The graphics were mindblowing for the time but probably look crud now by comparison.

I don't think it was ultimate underworld as that's underground and this I was running around a town. But it was like that game in many ways...

Ha, I thought of Elder Scrolls. But Morrowind would be a decade later, if we go by OP's early 90s approximate period. It could've been Arena, or Daggerfall but it's a stretch since it's from 96.

Legends of valour looks about right. It certainly looked a lot like this.

Sounds like Thief more than anything else. It came out originally in the 90's on PC then was later redone for Xbox and PS...the vid is the 2014 further rehash of it.

Thief came out in late 90s, doesn't quite fit the given time frame. Also, you can't just mention this series and present us this terrible reboot. How rude

Loved Thief. Such a brilliant concept. Every RP thief I rolled was called Garrett from then on.

Thief was the logic step after 2D Commandos - at least until I checked release dates and found out they were both released in the same year!
