This is me. My miner is a Krait II specifically outfitted for core. Fast, good jump, three large hardpoint weapons for interdiction and pirate relief. Point defense to ward off hatchbreakers. 128t of capacity. I like the visibility and agility for flipping around the rocks to set charges, use the abrasion blaster and support my limpets.
My design choices were made to build a ship that was fast and could hit back to deal with interdictions. The scoop and jump to make it painless to fly to the far-flung best sell stations. I just did a mining trip yesterday, got 114t of Musgravite, Benitoite and Monazite. Flew 200 light years to the first sell station (8 jumps, 10 minutes). Sold the first two types there, and then flew 120 light years to sell 30t of Monazite. 830k average sell for 94m total.
My sort of ship isn't popular among miners I don't think. Speed, jump and weapons are not typically given much consideration in a mining ship. But it suits me and just what I had in mind when I decided to build a dedicated core mining Krait.
