I recently switched to Horizons but when I boot up I get a big Odyssey Screen. Does that mean I have Odyssey or Horizons? Can I scan for life while walking on planets and make money that way?

On foot disembarkation is on the "role panel"(default key 3, also known as crotch panel), so if it says "Disembark", then yes.
There I have 3 options. Fighter, SRV and crew.
So I take it that's a, "no walking on planets"
It is confusing. Horizons 4.0 "live" now runs on the game engine created for Odyssey and you see the Odyssey loading video. But you can only disembark and walk outside your ship if you bought the Odyssey dlc.
