Can not land on atmospheric planets in Odyssey

Hello there,

I can not land on atmospheric planets in Odyssey. On planets without atmophere it works as before in Horizons. I get the message "Your ship must be fitted with an planetary approach suite...". See the image.

Any ideas?

Thx!

I'm not even sure planets with atmospheres is even implemented yet? So far all I've ever seen are lifeless moons.

Maybe fit one of those modules? 🤔
Of course I have fitted a planetary approach suite. If not, it should also not work for non atmospheric planets.
Is there a different one for atmopheric planets? I don't think so. Do I miss something?

I'm out in the void on an exploration tour and more than 20k Ly away form the next station...

yes...

though you should have been upgraded automagically. Some failed to upgrade in the alpha ...

Edit: Or it could be the 'classic' bug that clears up after a relog, but you'd know about that so I bet you already tried that 🤔

There's Planetary Approach suite (Horizons) and Advanced Planetary Approach suite (Odyssey). Your ships should have upgraded to the latter, but a glitch at this point would not be surprising. You can always check in outfitting and try to buy the right one, if you don't have it.

Really? I never did or noticed this and had very little opportunity to play the alpha. I've also never removed this module, as far as I know there is no other module that fits in this slot. From there I wonder what the optional removal is for anyway, why isn't it just "hardwired" like the FSS for example?
To filter out those who have access to tenuous atmosphere planets (Odyssey) and those that don't (Horizons) by restricting purchase.

I'm just using the Apex service to get to planets with atmo. I then attack the local security ....die and go back to the prison ship...and repeat..poor man exploration

Ok, I think I check all the points the Track Issues site can handle... I can not land on atmo planet neither. I've verified that the advanced landing module is well equiped. It is... Or maybe I really miss something.

On the local map, we can see three types of moons / planet (except the gaz ones) :
  • no blue circle
  • blue circle with 3 bars
  • blue bubble (atmo ones ?) and I can't land on these last ones.

Is it normal or do I do something wrong ?

Oh, and a 4th one, blue circle around a blue bubble, maybe that's the only ones we can land ?

Yes, the last one. Those are the ones you can land on and signifies landable atmospheric.

Blue Circle: landable
Blue Circle with 3 bars: landable and has artificial (human made) structures in it (settlement, outpost etc..)
Blue Circle (with or without the 3 bars) and blue sphere: landable with atmosphere.

If you see a planet that has the blue sphere, but it hasn't the blue circle, means that it has atmosphere but it is not landable.
