Can this ring be scanned?

I have tried everything, but this ring is just too far away from the class 2 gas giant and any other planets. Probes will not reach it to be scanned.

I have not tried this myself but can you not go into the gap to get close enough for space-darts at the GG but fire probe(s) outwards towards the ring?

I had a similar C4GG over in Hawking's Gap. Spent the better part of an hour trying everything including spraying the universe with infinite probes. I finally gave up and sailed on. That ring wasn't about to give me it's secrets ;)

probes only travel so far before they disappear. I have already tried your suggestion and they don't even get close.

You have to get closer to the ring.
I didn't try probing the GG from my position in the screenshot, I know that's impossible. The screenshot was to show the gap between the 2nd and 3rd rings of the planet. The closest I got was positioning myself near an ice body the was orbiting the GG, but still inside the radius of the 3rd ring. However the probes still didn't fly far enough before disappearing to scan the 3rd ring.

Same with this one. No chance to get a scan of the tiny outer rings. I guess there are some secrets the galaxy will just keep to itself.
