Modes Can we get more players into Open Play?

All PVPiers went through every single PVE content this game has to offer, many many times, engage in PVP and you will be better in PVE as well.

Your type of PvP doesn't teach anything.
Any knuckle-dragger can do 4 FDLs Vs 1 Sidewinder.

And some how I don't think you've the attention span to run my trade routes, or do exploration.

So you dont understand anything about PVP or PVE, got it.

Go read the game documentation beyond "ALL MODEZ ARE EQUAL MUH CONTENT"

With respect though, whether you like it or not, all modes are equal. That was Frontier's decision to make, not yours. Me and you, we're just regular players. Buying the game, even kick-starting the game, does not give us a vote in the boardroom.

Stop trolling.

PP has a great potential to provide proper content, but it will require changes in the core game design.

Since when did a harmless SW related joke become 'trolling'?

And for god's sake cut the codswallop, there is no way on earth you can believe that crap about PVP players being better at PVE. Are some of them on a par with PVE players at PVE? - almost certainly, did a frak lot of them just exploit their way to what they have now in terms of in game assets?, damn right they did. All those PVP players that can't stand PVE didn't suddenly think to themselves, 'hey, guess what, I'm gonna take the time to understand all the nuances of all these PVE activities I hate'. Will you get real and stop making out you and others must be better at everything the game has to offer, it is childish epeen waving at its very worst.

Outfit a PVP ship and you will be surprised.

I never claimed otherwise, those threads are all hypothetical, its not like FDEV even looks at them. Doesn't mean there shouldn't be a discussion.

I understand the frustration, but it's also a metaphorical dead horse.

Remember, I would love a separate BGS for Open & Solo/PG. It would shut up a large portion of the flame wars here.

I'm with you in wanting the modes separated, but for differing reasons.

Surprised by what? How easy it is to cling onto SDC's coattails and copy their latest crack train like video? Or maybe be surprised by being able to read about the latest money exploit on these boards or Reddit. Maybe you mean surprised at how easy the 5:1 engineering exploit was. Maybe you mean surprised at what a challenge it is for me and 3 uber engineered FDL's to shoot traders at a CG?

Trust me, cheating, exploiting and borderline exploiting your way to a viable PVP build does not a PVE expert make.

Aww, did I hit a sore spot.

Don't like it when someone points out "real PvP" isn't blowing up Sidewinders or traders with your wing of RNGneers combat ships.

This is why Frontier made the game the way they did. When asked how they intend to deal with people like you - the mode system is their answer.
We don't need in game GMs to deal with harassment / griefers - we just go to the comms menu and block, or join a group of like minded players.
So FD save money on wages for a team of GMs, the players get peace of mind and your lot get what you deserve.

Trust me, cheating, exploiting and borderline exploiting your way to a viable PVP build does not a PVE expert make.

It does make for some fun on the forums though when they come crying here looking for targets :D

Bad idea, the single BGS means less dev time and effort and no branching galnet confusing everyone all the time.

It's brilliant simple but effective and everyone and all modes are equal, for everyone except the minority who lie awake at night worrying about what invisible CMDR's are getting up to.

Ok honestly, without trying to insult, but you dont know what you are talking about with those claims.

First of all to unlock the engineers you require good amount of PVE including exploration, to collect mats including CIF (crack train that doesnt work for long time), you need to do mission to get MEF, look for high grades to get Pharmaceuticals, bounty hunt for minor common mats, srv for rocks, base scans, and all of these done for many repetitive times.

Credits - yeah there are cash cows for sure, but the PVE payouts are a joke so what can you do.

I have done both "real PVP" and PVE more than you, get over it. Based on your posts you dont understand half the features this game has.

So what's surprising about that and why are you appearing to assume that a hell of a lot of PVE players haven't done that and a hell of a lot more? Are you saying that travelling 5k ly is some sort of mystical challenge that only those who build PVP ships can truly understand? Are you saying that searching for high grade USS's is too hard for PVE players? Or maybe you mean shooting rocks on planets is beyond your average Elite PVE player?

If you want a competitive ship the PVE required is more than casual. Not saying that some PVE'rs did less, but ALL the PVPers did tremendous PVE work.

Just because you've done repetitive tasks for your RNGneers doesn't mean your a good player.
It means you can handle brain dead tasks, congratulations you're on par with a monkey.

Also, who was the one who claimed the game has no "content", "Solo isn't multiplayer" and "PP was intended for open" (when it clearly wasn't).
You don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to knowing how the game works.

I've spent 2 weeks, along with others trying to explain it to you.

Suppose I'll spend the next 2 weeks explaining why you're not a real PvP'ers next.

So do PVE players every single play session, the point being PVP players are not better at PVE than PVE players just because they shot a few more bloody rocks!

I dont need your explanations since you dont even know what PP or BGS are.

Besides, you dont even understand that what you describe a "repetitive task" is actually the PVE content that you all like so much, and for once I agree, its repetitive and mundane.

BTW: game has no "content", "Solo isn't multiplayer" and "PP was intended for open".

I Love open play but players are parking behind spawn points and toasting ships before they have a chance to turn around, I got roasted by four players in seconds and my vette is pimped to the nines, sort of kills the fun of it.

"Solo isn't multiplayer"

Yes, in that one will be instanced with exactly zero other players; no, in that one both experiences and affects the single shared galaxy state, i.e. BGS, PowerPlay, CGs, Factions, etc.

"PP was intended for open".

Yes, in that it offers opportunities for consensual PvP between players of opposing Powers; no, in that it was consciously implemented in all game modes.
