Can we please fix the ranger/vet vehicle controls?

I went back to JWE1 and it felt so good to drive the old jeeps. The ranger car and MVU truck in the new game feel so clunky to control. One of my favorite parts of JWE1 was getting into first person with the jeep and driving around. But driving in the new game feels so off and I dont even know why. I understand that the MVU would feel a bit weird to control. But the Jeep feel good to drive.

I thought the same thing when I started the game for the first time after months again yesterday. Wanted to fix some stuff with the jeep and damn that thing drove like a one mile curve instead of simply turning around. What's up with that? Even the clunky MVU should need that much space to take a turn. It's like the controls don't react right and everything happens in slow motion. Really hope something's done about that as well. It just feels weird >.<

It's as if the vehicles suffer terrible understeer, but the problem persists even at slow speeds when the wheels shouldn't be slipping (and this is in good weather on dry surfaces). The MVU isn't bad, it's just a bigger van than you think it is (looks like an ambulance; is a Deuce+1/2). The problem is the G-wagon/'93 jeeps largely share the MVU's lumbering performance characteristics instead of behaving as expected of a sporty off-road scout vehicle (which they did in JWE1).

I said in the post that I understand the MVU being sluggish, but not the jeep

JWE2 vehicle controls are so horrible compared to the first game. I keep jumping into a ranger jeep to drive it around because I loved to do that in the first game and get that first person view of things, and I always instantly regret it now because they just don't handle the same. It's bad enough already that they don't even look the same (the JP and JW jeeps aren't the same models used in the first game)

That happens when you loose the rights from an automobile company like JEEP 🤷‍♂️
No one who have knowlege about cars had take a last look over controling the vehicles, it seems. 😉

Yeh, the fact we don't have the official licensed vehicles is just infuriating to me...
So much for the "most authentic Jurassic experience". JWE1 just feels more atmospheric, and personally, I think a large part of it is due to the knock off cars used in Evolution 2.

Plus the car radios are really quiet in Evolution 2 as well, I wanna hear my Mariachi music damnit!

Yeah don't get me wrong, I love some of the new features in JWE2, but as far as how the game looks and feels, the first game is far superior in my opinion. I don't understand why they had to remake literally everything from scratch and not port over any of the buildings from the first game. The vehicles I can understand due to liscencing, but they buildings.... nah. I'm honestly surprised no one has modded the JWE1 jeeps into JWE2 yet.

The first game just looks more real. It's not just the models. I can't put my finger on it but I think it has to do with the texturing and lighting. I notice it mostly on the tropical maps. Doesn't seem like the foliage has enough contrast in its textures. And some of the dino skins look kinda cartoony and washed out. Almost like they heard us say "make it more like JPOG" and did just that but with the graphics instead of the gameplay.

Ok. I'm done whining. I do appreciate all the work and effort the team put into both these games. I just.... idk. Wish they kept adding onto the first one instead of making a whole new thing that just doesn't feel right to me.

I'm exactly the same! I 100% still love Evolution 2 but something about it just feels off and incomplete compared to the first game but I can't put my finger on it...

Unfortunately car manufacturers don’t like to give out their license to video games in which their vehicle can be destroyed.

So video game companies are left with two choices regarding cars, either go with real, licensed vehicles but unable to be properly damaged or go with self-made vehicles that somewhat resemble the real vehicle and are able to completely destroy it.

But they were able to do it in the 1st game...

Why are these manufacturers so touchy about seeing a virtual car get destroyed? xD
It's not like a T-rex crushing a Jeep YJ would be bad for publicity, considering they're not actually alive irl. I really don't understand the corporate mind at all...

I'd just see it as free advertising.

Originally in the first game though, vehicles were invincible they couldn’t be damaged whatsoever. But after substantial fan feedback and high demand, Frontier would've had to pay for additional licensing to include damage on top of the license to have Jeeps implemented in the game in the first place.

And it doesn’t matter if it’s free advertising for them, if it’s something that makes their brand look bad such as being destroyed or owned by the bad guy. Then they'll either not allow their product to be featured or make it so expensive that it’s just not worth it.

Ehh, seems a bit exaggerated on their end lmao

It may seem exaggerated but unfortunately it’s true, here are a couple of examples:

Apple have clauses where no bad guy in films can own an iPhone.

Honda was absent for years from racing games featuring illegal street racing and cop chases, because they didn’t want their vehicles to be associated with breaking the law.

Yeh, I understand their intention but I don't understand the logic...
