Can We Talk About Ship Interiors for a Bit?

We've got bobbleheads, string lights, and some bootleg HUD coloring hacks. Do you think we'll ever see some better customization options for our ship interiors? So far, all of our interior options are pretty goofy and I'm wondering if we'll ever get more serious items like a Naval Rank plaque, or a ship name plaque. I know HUD coloring has been suggested to the point of insanity, but will we ever get an official HUD coloring option that doesn't include mathematical color balancing? I know some folks like it, but I've never found a single HUD option that looked natural (And I've tried quite a few). And the poor PS4 and Xbox folks are just stuck. Speaking of HUD's, why do all of the ship manufacturers use the EXACT same one? Shouldn't Gutamaya use something more elegant and blue? They already have different seats and Safety Orange is out of place on a Cutter. And what about the rest of the cockpit? can't we paint the bridge up a little? Gunmetal Grey gets old, but Apple Product White also tends to clash a bit.

Would love some cockpit customization beyond what we already have :-D

FDev said they wanted to make it possible to truly customize the coloration of the HUD, but for that to be possible they would have to redesign how the HUD works.
So it is on their to do list.
But... I suppose it is not a priority, which is understandable.
I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually decided to sell us HUD colouring packages. I have no problem with that. It seems a good way to generate a bit of extra revenue.

The HUD looks the same for practical reasons. There is a fluff explanation to justify it, but that is just fluff.
It would be a lot of work to design different HUDs.
I would like it if all manufacturers had at least slightly different HUDs.
The advantage of the current system is of course that the player can more easily familiarize him/herself with it.
Shouldn't Gutamaya use something more elegant and blue?
I agree that a blue Gutamaya HUD would be more appropriate.

The Cutter has a visibility problem. I have a hard time reading certain areas of the right hand HUD panel.
I think FDev should have a look at that.

I expect that FDEV will start selling interior coloration packs when we can walk around our ships.

As an xbone player, I would most gladly welcome the extra customization options...I miss the old HUD colours I had on the pc, but its stuck on that one boring lime green here. I could sink a few nuggets into that option fer sure.

And fluffy dice...thats not a sarcastic joke btw, Im deadly serious...fluffy dice...nuff said ^

Oh and subwoofers and tweeters...not that they have to work but they look cool...turtle beach on this end takes care of the sound ^

Lots of different seats, HUD colours, customisable dashboards/interior colours, carpets, wires, etc - would be great. Just not a price per item. Give us the whole lot for a reasonable price, say the same as a ship kit.

I'd love to see the ship HUD customizable by the pilot much like you can customize the UI in World of Warcraft. Allow the pilot to change what & where information is displayed in addition to the colors too. Move notifications around, set how long popup messages display for, set what system info is displayed during hyperspace, set what info is displayed on the target selection screen, rearrange the planet surface HUD, stuff like that.

there's so much more untapped potential for cosmetics dlc with ship interiors. wear and tear, different palette / material combinations etc. hopefully one day

Seconded, why is HUD coloring and customization not a part of Beyond? Three years and counting without in-game HUD customization support? Why doesn't Frontier listen to the fans? We've requested this hundreds of thousands of times for years. :(

If I was a console player and only had the orange HUD I'd get depressed because I dislike, hate orange.

Furthermore, I prefer a less cluttered HUD. Alas we don't have in-game options or mods for that.

What i want a different UIs for the different ships. Wanna feel like im climbing into a new ship not just a copy paste HUD.

The problem with this setup is a simple issue. That of which would end up plaguing the player base - mainly of newer/first-time commanders. You end up with a vertical learning wall - an extremely high wall, much more so than what we have now. Much more experienced commanders would have no issue with each ship having its own dedicated UI/HUD, with its own layout to a UI/HUD.

Which makes me wonder... modular UI's... that'd be a sweet thing to have. Being able to move, resize, align UI bits to how you want it. :)

Ugh. Let's not encourage the micratransaction madness any further.

I don't mind paying for it, because it's long overdue.

Yes that'd be great, just make it optional.

I wouldn’t even need a different UI. Have everything in the same spots, but just style them a bit differently across manufacturers(the aforementioned Gutamaya blue interface, Core Dynamics HUDs having more angular and aggressive looking bits in military green, Lakon HUDs being squarish and utilitarian, etc). Maybe slight animation differences between them, but leave everything in the same place so that a commander hopping into a new ship can immediately tell where everything is.

Being able to customize the HUD would be nice. Even if it wasn't modular, at least different HUD specific colors without affecting the whole screen.
