Can you pretty please fix panels that don't fall off properly!

Its more than slightly annoying when panels get stuck when cutting them off with the arc cutter and jam in place! A fix for this would be appreciated!

Would be nice to be able to grab things and throw them around like you can in Fallout 4 (and any other Bethesda game since like... 2006).

That would solve this problem and it could add some interactivity which might help make areas feel less like rigid hard-coded setpieces.

Having been hit several times by panels (with red hot edges) falling off abandoned SRVs when cut, this feels like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

This might not appear to qualify as an 'accident that wasn't your fault', but legally, it's surely a design flaw in a game where there is no way to steady a panel in place while cutting it?

If nothing else, muh ummursion...

This is still an issue, come on Frontier panels getting stuck on missions that you then have to forfeit is getting daft. Can't you just add a flag to panel if free allow to affected by kinetic weapons.

I've not seen this for a very long time. Must be an extreme fringe case.

I don't know why they don't just make them despawn after 2s (or at least change them to immaterial so you can ignore them). Most games do it this way. It guarantees no issues for the player at the very slight cost of immersion.

Whilst the current approach does work for me every time, it results in really silly outcomes like the panel pushing me back, bobbing me up and down or ending up wedged into the ceiling.

Best to just do away with that and make them lose their material properties as soon as they're cut and vanish shortly after. It's fine to animate them breaking away but why must they continue to behave with physics (except gravity)?

I love it when they are a little above and sorta flip down over or at you, or sometimes pivot down and swing on a thread for a sec then fall

Not coming all the way off happened to me a lot last year still, but not the past couple of months, not yet anyway.

They would sometimes budge slightly and ONE time I got one off through shooting and melee. It'd be real satisfying if those things would move the fallen panels. Maybe you could even play kick the panel on the ground!

Oh, it's not a fringe case. I've just had it happen three straight times trying to open a panel on a crashed satellite. Cut the panel, it slips straight down about 2-3 inches and just sits there and nothing will move it. Log out, log back in, same thing. Plus a couple other times today on various near-vertical surfaces. Ballistic or plasma weapons should be able to knock the panels out of the way, or melee attacks!

ETA: Tried a total of five times. Gave up on the mission and ate the fine.

Same mission only way I could complete it was with a rocket launcher to blow the panel out after cutting it free. Took a few attempts to get that to work too.

Yeah it's still happening to me too - I jinxed my luck. Also sometimes you can just barely snag the item through the crack
