Can YOU, Run Elite?

I know the old saying, a certain game requirements are so low you can run it on a potato..... but I never expected someone to actually try it with ED ;)

seriously, that rig is not THAT bad, but your gpu is truly bobbins!.

it wont cost much to get something which will match your pc a little better.

a gtx 750ti I think would be a nice fit for your rig coming in at 100 quidsih.

sure you may nt be able to play on full, but it will be way better than you have now.

but your i7 integrated graphics are several generations (depending on which i7) better than his current card.

Haha, yeah bobbins :p thanks man!
Some people just born to troll i guess

Wow, I totally expected a rage-post that stomps on the game, the devs and everyone else.

Sad to see your actual hardware won't let you enjoy Elite to its fullest, and I really do hope that after you get a new machine or hardware update you will rock the galaxy with the rest of us.

Do you have all drivers up to date? That's what I'm always told to do when I run into troubles with games  and then I make my bf do it for me :D (then again, don't listen to me, I'm not even sure about what I am advising you to do  )

Hope to see you out there, and seriously... have some +rep for a non-rage but constructive post. I mean it :)

*Edit: yay to the other commanders giving way better hints than I could ever come up with :)

CMDR Grinchy hope's to see your light shining over the galaxy soon
We shall hunt the troll's, and spread much more cheese.

Thanks KEY ;)

I feel your pain, OP. Up until recently I was having to play on 800x600 resolution! Upgraded my GPU to a very modest GT740 and now it runs on max quality at 1280x768. May not be proper HD but it's good enough for me :)

I feel the pain too but this is just a duplication of the thread from the weekend isn't it?

At the lower end, Elite Dangerous (Beta) is GPU bound. DirectX 10 minimum graphics card is probably setting the bar too low but then if yours will run 27fps at 720p then that's not unreasonable performance on pretty old hardware for a work-in-progress un-optimised beta?

The solution is, I'm afraid to get a current video card. As I answered in the last thread, ditching my pair of old 9600GT extremes for a GTX 750Ti took it from unplayable at 1080p to ~30fps minimum at stations, 40-50fps+ in space (max settings) on my 6/7yr old Q6600 rig.

Elite Dangerous beta owns your shader units. all of them. If your card hasn't got many, it'll run like a slug on salt.
