Can you sleep in a Sidewinder

I think I remember reading that the Cobra Mk.III has a small crew area below the cockpit, but looking at the Sidewinder it looks a bit on the small side. Although I guess you could roll a space sleeping-bag out on the floor of an empty 1t cargo rack.

I know some people have spent a long time out in the black inside a Sidewinder, just wondered how comfy it would be for our little in game avatars :)

That's would be sweet. Land on a planet thousands of light years out of the bubble. Park up for the night and have a sleep. Maybe some aliens turn up. Who knows....

If we ever get the chance to explore the ship on foot, it's the first thing I'm going to look for. That and the toilet.

It would be awesome to be able to walk around in our ships. Maybe it'll be added in the future.

Pretty sure they've already confirmed that as a feature later.

Edit: Just looked at their roadmap. Yes, they have said it will be a thing, and so will boarding hostile ships.

here is a sizecomparison for many ships, there are newer ones around:

and here a great video doing the same (starting with a banana): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x08skupb8cc

so, i guess sleeping in a sidey is valid.

Size comparison charts put the difference in ships into perspective.. but always fail to show just how big even the Sidey and Eagle really are. The Sidewinder is nearly as big as a moderately sized house. Actually a bit bigger, but I'm more thinking about the interior. True much of that is cargo/internal module space, but I would think there would still be substantial room for a rather large "bedroom" for one or several military sized quarters. Just my opinion.

Edit: I watched the video just now.. Sidey isn't quite as big as I remembered, but I still think there is ample room for quarters for at least 4 in there. Cramped, shared bunkspace maybe.. but quarters all the same. One person crew could have a master bedroom though. :D

That comparison vid is wicked, I didn't realise the Cobra Mk.IV was as massive as that. Good stuff!!

The Anaconda and Corvette are about half the length of the longest aircraft carrier ever made, the USS Enterprise CVN-65 (342m). The Farragut Class Battlecruiser (Federal Captial ship) is 2km (1.243 miles) long. A little over 4 times longer than the longest ship ever made Seawise Giant (458m).

Well isn't there a door directly behind the chair? could imagine it has a very simple and tiny sleep/toilet combo thingy.

True, there does appear to be a bit of space for that between the interior door and the outer door at the rear of the ship

An pressure room for a single person doesn't need to be that big, so yeah, could be space, could of course also be space below, not a lot but surely similar to a small boat with a tiny cabin and bed.

I imagine these ships like actual boats.
A small fishing boat has a little table nook in the wheelhouse for chillin out and a fo'c'sle with bunks down below. That's your sidewinder.
A larger fishing boat has a large wheelhouse with kitchen area, booth and a larger fo'c'sle with bunks for several people. Like a small studio apartment. That's the MK III

That's just how I imagine it. Also, I was born and grew up on a small fishing boat in Alaska. I'm practically a space explorer, and      yeah, you can sleep anywhere.

I'm thinking our avatar just puts his feet on the console, reclines the chair and falls asleep. The space between door and ship is for toilet and cooking facilities.

The sidey is for the discerning space pilot not those luxury vessels like the Cobra ;)
