Cannot access account

Hey folks. I had the idea to use the beta steam client (you can opt in in the settings). After the restart and update, I was able to log into the launcher. Though it still took two tries. Good luck.
Confirmed this works! Two tries is key - on the second launch it took a little longer and a dialog very briefly appeared before the launcher showed up.

Worked here on one account so far. Required quitting out of Steam completely and restarting both Steam and the launcher before it worked 🎉
 
Has now worked on my account too. My method:

Switched to Steam beta. It asked to restart so I restarted. It did the update and Steam popped up. Launched ED. Still came up with the Horizons launcher but I logged in anyway. Again got the error saying I don't own the game and need to purchase. Quit the ED launcher. Started ED again from Steam. ED now runs just fine. (The other account holder had to restart Steam manually for it to work.)

I can also confirm that switching to the Steam beta also launches just fine with Min ED Launcher.
 
Glad it's working for folks. I've run the beta on and off for years, there's usually not much difference unless you go looking for it. (Like, go read the Steam beta forum pages to see what's actually changed.)

Not working for me... Scratch that. Took about a dozen times but the launcher finally worked (and shows the Elite Odyssey logo). Now I've got just over an hour before Server Maintenance :ROFLMAO:

Running the game through GeForce Now (on a Steam account). Opted in to Beta on Steam app but still not working for me. This has happened before and a fix has been forthcoming reasonably quick so keeping fingers crossed.
 
Based on the Steam discussion, the 'production' Steam client seems to have been patched, so check for updates if you didn't opt into the beta. The changelog appears to corroborate this:
(This client was re-released a couple of hours later to fix a regression that caused some Steamworks enabled multiplayer game sessions to fail to connect)
 
I only ever use the standalone fd launcher probably why I have no trouble
if you have the privalidge of using it maybe try unlinking accounts so you can at least play when steam has a bad hair day
if you bought the game on steam b4 april 2019 you have the privalidge or bought the game direct from fd ……………..
 
Doesn't look like steam has a channel for asking for support there. :(

Edit ... somehow didn't see all the posts. Re-read, and can confirm BETA steam client trick has worked for me also.
