Cannot Claim Care Package

Yes I got the message then checked the powerplay contact.
I think the same thing happened on my last level up too. Not much point in doing this if you don't get the rewards.
If you claim a care package, check its contents first. Then claim it. Then if that message says unable to claim it have a look at the list of mats. Those you haven't maxed out on will be claimed, the rest left over are mats you've maxed out on. And will remain unclaimed until you use those mats engineering or wotever, and you can then claim em. Least that's how I see it. I have about 10 partially claimed boxes. At level 44 (I'm in no rush)
I just can't sselect the care package icon. It's as if there are no care packages pending. I'm going to earn some more merits to get to the next rank and if it happens again I'll contact support.
What rank was it?

That's it. I'm on rank 20 and I see that the messages for both 19 and 20 are both corrupted. Thanks to you and everyone who replied.
Yeah dewd. It wont let me claim my level 19 or 20 packages as well. Shame its corrupted.

I didn't see this mentioned; you also get a notification message whenever you rank up, and the body of the message lists you what you earned. When it's a care package the message body contains a list of the contents of the care package. For the level 19 (corrupted) care package, we instead see a piece of code(?) that is supposed to reference the list. From memory it's something like

Meanwhile at level 49 I have more materials than I've ever had at one time. The ghosts of player accounts from 2017, with their random engineering roll effects and 1000 material cap look upon me with unified disgust at my gluttony. The disdain from gods of the ED universe themselves is palpable within my cockpit, and yet I devour more like an empty, ever-hungry wound in the fabric of the game. There is no straying off this path. I must feed on the every growing bounty of materials as this is who my CMDR is now.
More than one interstellar treasure-seeker has become obsessed with Raxxla to the exclusion of all other dreams, and spent his or her entire life in a futile search for it.

I received my care package but all it contained were some earplugs, an eye mask, a pair of socks, a toothbrush and toothpaste, some hand lotion, and lip balm.
I'm wondering if it's to with keeping these from building excessively. I'm at rank 147 and I've been trying to make sure I'm prompt cleaning these up out of the power contact before it gets to the point I can't claim one fully because a bin is full.
However I'm aware bugs do get worse at higher levels, so maybe I've not got to the stage where the actual problems occur yet.

I have so many care packages I can't claim that the game client literally locks up when I pull up the Care Packages menu. It's really absurd that this has been known forever and they don't care to fix it.
