Massive - check. Online - check. Multiplayer - technically. So yeah, if you go by the strict letters of the acronym, it's an MMO. What it isn't is a WoW style 'max your level, grind for gear and then do endgame stuff' MMO, and I think anyone expecting that is going to be disappointed unfortunately.
