I removed a Reactive Surface Composite (engineered) from a Vulture to install it in a Chieftan however though it appears as a stored module it doesn't appear as an option to install on the Chieftan. I can however buy a new one, just can't install the one I removed from the Vulture. Any reason for this? A bug?
Cannot replace armour module from another ship?

Different ships, different components, hull is a ship specific part, iirc it is the only part that is, unlike the other components which are interchangable.
It will only fit the Vulture, the same for all ships, the hull is ship specific.
When you look at the armor module the game is actually meant to say what type of ship it is for, but that's one of the things that got broken with Odyssey and was never fixed.
Otherwise I'd be putting Hauler reactive on all my Cutters.

i spent ages looking for that info as i was sure it was somewhere. it being a bug and it now being hidden explains it!. this is a pita if you have multiple armours stored.
i do agree it is a good thing that these are not interchangeable for reasons already given, however it should not be hard for FD to change it to say Vulture light armour in the description
This has frustrated me for years. I have sooooo many stored armours and I have no idea if I "need" them...but they are all fully g5 maxed out and I can't bring myself to sell them.
I know a good few are for Vultures.
The only way I've found to see what is what is to look at the buy/sell price.
