Can't buy certain gender of animal

Hello!

I've done community challenge - I've released more than 600 animals. In doing so, I've observed that after buying, let's say - buffaloes in proportion 1 male, 3-4 females, few times, there are no more male buffaloes to buy at the market. Or rather I can buy females for cash - 800-1500, which is great. But any male buffalo costs 1500 conservation credits or more, even 9000. And these aren't often any good. They tend to even have fertility gene at 0.

And this repeated with any other animals - peafowls, african penguins, zebras, lemurs. Suddenly I can't buy usually male or it costs a lot. Why is that?

I've played for 15 hours or so and it was great - I've ordered animals, put them in quarantine, in habitats, replaced deceased ones, created habitats for good gene offsprings and mixing them with new ones. But then I can't do that. Or use 1500-2000 conservation credits for one very mediocre simplest animal with rating lower than 800. At the beginning there was no problem with any animal. Buffaloes were in both genders, both for cash and CC, there were good and bad ones.

Is it intended? If so, what for? I don't get it.

I've earned 3 500 000 000 cash and I can't spend it at all.

And I have about 35000 CC. Which I intend to use in new ZOOs. I don't want to spend it now, because it's really not a lot. If I buy 3 good Mandrils, I will use 1/3 of it.

I would've said just wait some time but if the Peafowl are also so extremely expensive, something might be wrong indeed because normally there are always enough cheap ones on the Market. Try if it helps to restart the Game/verify the Game Files

After server maintenance still - no male buffaloes available to buy, not even for CC. Same with peafowls.
In case of rest:
African penguins - no female to buy.
Zebras - only 1 male, rest, about 7 females.
Aadvarks - no females.
Anteaters - no males.
Wildebeests - no males.
Hipopotamus - no males.
Dingos - no females.
Ring Tailed Lemur - no females.

It's not by chance. This is going on for a few hours. No restarting helped.

that is one of the features of franchise mode, its called market economy. everything, that is in high demand or rare becomes expensive or is not evailable. if there wasnt a cap at 10000 cc, the prices for certain animals would be much higher. (the thing i dont get, is why buffalos are in so high demand, because they are easy to breed. I already have 4 indipendent herds of white african buffalos and 3 herds of white american buffalos. you can still sell them for 10000 cc. in my opinion, indian rhinos are the most difficult.)

IMO buffaloes are in so high demand, because there are great first animals - they are cheap, easy to maintain, have low upkeep costs and can share habitat with many other animals. I very often buy them in first few enclosures. The also breed quite nicely, not so hardcore like peafowls or penguins, but enough.

i like peafowls much more, because they can be about 50 years old. I dont like animals, that die too soon. ^^ and with african bufalos, the thing is, they become unfertile long before they die, buffalos demand much more micromangement and are more anoying. but thats maybe a matter of taste. for a starter zoo, i like to have cheetahs, beause they dont cost that much to keep but still have a big visitor pull, same for indian rhinos. Cheetahs are also a goodd CC-mashine, even if you just free them. And for both, you only have to manage a pair ond the offspring. that could also be a solution, just breed cheetahs for an abundance of cc and them just by the overprized stuff. btw, thats also how one could ruin real economy, just flood the markets with money without restriction, until nobody knows, where to put the money.^^

I think peafowl have become high because of the challenge. They're easy/quick breeders. I used only peafowl for the challenge. And as it was a release challenge they weren't getting put into the market. I think prices will drop again soon.

Also as said above its how the market works, before I could easily get gold tortoises for low price. Now theyre harder to get as more animals have become available. I always struggle with females that can be kept in large herds with one male, as people tend to keep the females and change the male

I don't get it why it's market dynamics like in MMOs while there is a competition.

In PZ there is no competition. I wanna have joy from building great looking, realistic and not so much realistic ;) ZOOs.
Why there is such hindrance? Now I cannot build habitat for buffaloes because there is no male. Or I cannot create African penguins' habitat because there is no female to buy.

I know that there is sandbox and challenge modes but still this shouldn't be, imo.
It's great that I can buy animals from other players ZOOs but I don't wanna spend time clicking "refresh" 100 times a minute to get one animal which was common.

Maybe there should be a mechanic that in such situation animals in bad conditions should be generated - like easier to get injured, worse genes, sick, etc. I would gladly get them and start the road to breeding better and better ones. But now I cannot.

Can you post a complete List of the Animals that you need? Maybe I can help you to get some of them (but I can't help with Africa or North America Pack Animals due to not owning those DLCs)

Thank you @Urufu1997 !
However I don't need help. I am doing now timed scenarios and will continue building new franchise ZOO in about a week or so. I want to stylize it, maybe as a rural area and a village. I need to plan it, research, etc. So I believe that economy will be back to normal when I start. Especially as community challenge has ended.

I was just concerned that this might repeat. I don't know how this mechanic works. So if I will start buying animals, how quick this will become an issue.

I created 1 franchise ZOO to learn what it's about and used it to complete the challenge. I bought many, many animals and I suspect that many people also. So no 2-3 animals but rather 20-30 per visit to animal market. I didn't expect to suddenly run out of animals to buy.

I wish you Luck with that and hope it won't be like the Polar Bear Situation then (they still don't seem to be very popular which is a bit of a Problem because now I don't have a female Polar Bear in my Marine Park)

I think it all depends on what the community challenge is. If its just breeding there tends to be loads of which ever on the market cheap. If its release to the wild I find the prices bump up and the market for that animal struggles because everyone is releasing them.

I hoped that they would use the challenges to help the market, eg small amount of buffalo available so they do a challenge to breed them. But it seems to be random

I have plenty of polar bears which are happily breeding in two of my arctic zoos. Just tell me your online time and we can somehow manage to solve your problem with a gold stat polar bear male... :D

The only difference between franchise and challenge mode (that I know of) is the market economy, which inevitably leads to these kinds of issues. If you want to have fun building zoos without any major challenges of buying the animals from the market or certain animals not being available/being too expensive, then challenge mode sounds like the game mode for you :) same thing but without those market problems.

I do have 2 males with good Genetics already but the females are way harder to get on the Market for some Reason

Have females, too. If you need one, tell me :)
Would be great if you could put one on the Market. Even better if you should be able to sell 2 because I've planned to have Polar Bears in my Marine Park and the Nordic Zoo I've started to build
Edit: just got a Silver Genetics female Polar Bear from Frontier Zoo🥳
And a Gold one by a Player🥳
