hello to me please purchase redeem elite dangerous to continue
Hello there
What is the problem?
hello to me please purchase redeem elite dangerous to continue
Il be honest chione i didn't think your method would work, but it bloody did, just closed it down and reopened epic launcher a couple of times and its there, Thanks. Now working with hours of persistence
I tried logging out and logging back in to try and fix this but now it is saying that i dont own the game when logging in. Help?I get passes the launcher, but when the game opens it says login failed and closes. Anyone else?
Okay so...
I play on PS4, but I'm extremely bummed out that PSVR doesn't support Elite, which is why I thought I'd take this opportunity to hop over to PC so I can finally play in VR...
In a recent video Obsidian Ant said that you wouldn't be able to link your second copy of Elite using the same email twice, so I created a new Frontier account with my new PC account in mind.
This seemed to get me passed my initial roadblocks; I wouldn't even get an option to link anything at first.
Instead, I would have to "redeem/purchase" the game.
However, now when I go to link my accounts, I get a notification saying "Problem with linking. Account may already be linked."
Yet, when I try to launch the game, it brings me right back to the option to either link or create account.
Obviously I can't create the account because it already exists.
And I should also say that the window with the "problem" notification only gives you the option to link your account, which, since that doesn't seem to work, only leaves you backing out of it as alternative. But then when I go to close that window, it implores me to finish linking my account first.
After closing the window anyway, verifying and updating the game, closing Epic Games, restarting my computer and then launching Epic anew, I get the option to either link an account or use an existing account.
Okay. Existing account then. So I log in, on my existing (second) account, only to be told to redeem/purchase the game.
And round and round we go...

I had this same problem on the same day as everyone else and just gave up, at one point in spending 4 hours trying to figure this out, I managed to get a page to send me a verification code, but I still have not received it as of today (yes, since Nov, yes I tried several times over multiple days). I just figured they were having issues due to epic giving it away and servers getting overloaded.
Today I saw a "follow-up" youtube video about this game after watching one about this weeks new epic free game, battlefront II. So I decided to try elite again and see if the server problems had subsided.
I still get the same issue.
problem with linking, account may already be linked.
This account is already registered to a user.
So I checked my account info...
LINKED THIRDPARTY ACCOUNTS
Name
Epic Games Unlink
so the account IS linked to my Epic account...
so I tried logging in the launcher...
it sends me a code...
I actually get the code!!! (only took 4 seconds or so too!)
I enter the code...
I get a message saying "please purchase/redeem Elite Dangerous to continue."
So, is this a failure on Epic's side for not telling Frontier that I own the game? did this really happen to everyone that redeemed the free game on that sad day in Nov?
several posts from steam say to make sure you launch the game as the base version and not as the Horizons update version to fix the issue, but I cannot see any way to do that in the launcher or from the Epic Games library page. I went to the install directory and there is only one launcher there, I ran that .exe directly, same issue.
I have submitted tickets to both Epic and Frontier. I'll update here if I get a response, since this page is near the top of the google search for this issue and no one has put in a response after getting the issue.
