Newcomer / Intro Can't deliver passengers.

I took on my first passenger mission and made it to Explorer's Anchorage. I see no place in the passenger lounge where I can turn them in. They're clearly there in my cargo space and I'm at the right station. What am I missing here?

If the mission said transport then it's move passengers from A to B.
If it said wants to visit or seeks sightseeing then it's leave A, visit a point(s) of interest, then return to A to get paid.
You can check this on the left panel transactions page.

It says both transport and visit. I see no other instructions.

Should I have received some kind of update that they got what they wanted from 'collecting data'?

They want you to scan the tourist beacon -

- you get the message in your comms panel when you have scanned the beacon (target the physical beacon in normal space).

EDIT - That is what they normally want you to do - I assume there is a tourist beacon at Explorers Anchorage - I have not been there since DW2.

...want to visit Explorer's Anchorage...

Fly to STUEMEAE FG-Y D7561
Find and fly to the Explorer's Anchorage point of interest.
Scan the beacon there by targeting it just like an NPC ship.
Fly back to the system where you picked up the passengers to get paid.

Being scanned can lose all profits. Hope that hasn't happened already.
These are time consuming missions and takes a lot of explorer patience.

Good luck.

The confusing part: there's a station called "Explorer's Anchorage" and there's a tourist beacon called "Explorer's Anchorage". You're at the former, you need to scan the latter. After you scanned the beacon, the mission (in you transactions tab) will update and tell you to bring the guy back to where you came from.

Hm I see nothing about scanning any beacons, but I'll try to find some. I did get scanned once at a fleet carrier in the system, but the passenger was still 'happy'.

Oooh. I see. Yup, there are two. Easy to miss if you select things from the system map and not through the navigation tab.

I wonder...Sagittatius A is close next door. Might be some Fleet Carriers there. If one is going back to the bubble maybe you could get a ride.

Of course landing then later departing a FC in the bubble and not being scanned could be a problem. IIRC one gets 2 MAYBE 3 scans before losing profits. It would be interesting to see if a FC could transport multiple players to a distant tourist site then back and it works.

Anyone already tried this?

Regards

Don't know what your jump range is but (assuming you have a fuel scoop) you can do this to Colonia - or adjust to suit -

69 jumps on the neutron highway is quicker than a FC anyway (probably ;) ).

BTW - Explorer's Anchorage has fuel scoops and AFMUs.

Passengers that say they want to "collect data" always want a return trip - go there, scan a tourist beacon, then go back again.
