Like it says I can't find an 8A power plant for Federal Corvette, even though I have seen it is possible to obtain an 8A power plant for the corvette. Using eddb and roguey I have not found a single 8A power plant but plenty of other 8A components at the same stations. What is going on?

No 8A reactor at a station updated 15 minutes ago using eddb, (Ross 584)
Also, doesn't that one station that you need an elite rank for (Jameson Memorial?) always have one of literally everything? If you're working on a Corvette, you're probably Elite in something, right? 
Unfortunately I am not elite in anything, that is why I havent been able to check Jameson yet. I am having the exact same issue. I have an Anaconda and have been searching for tow days for either an 8A or even an 8B powerplant. I have been using INARA and no matter what system I go to that it says has one when I get there it will have everything except an 8A or 8B. I have gone to ones that it said were updated just a few hours ago.

if you use EDDB.io sort the "price update" column so it shows the most recent data, look for places which have prices that have been updated recently, although if the price is older then chances are they may also have restocked
Possibly. Tyres O'Flaherty had a similar porblem (over in Newcomers) when trying to find a 5A FSD.
If you have one Elite rank, you can check at Jameson Memorial in ShinDez, otherwise I Sola Prospect in Brestla. Both stations are supposed to stock everything, all the time. Jameson's has a discount (IIRC10%), I Sola Prospect a similar surcharge.
Just for the record: I had no such issues when recently outfitting a Corvette in Horizons, so it may also be an option to boot into Horizons for the outfitting.

Bingo!!! Booting it up in Horizons "fixed" it. As soon as I went to the station using Horizons I found the 8a and 8b power plants. When I booted using Odyssey they were not available. The bug appears to be with Odyssey.
