Can't find any human CMDRs

I'm in Awara at the space station playing in open and can't find any human CMDRs. I've tried several times today and I only find NPCs. I'm new to Open. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

You are blocked by other players perhaps? Bad instancing? Checked again that you are definitively in open? Very bad luck perhaps and anyone that could be there is offline at the moment?

Do you have anyone in your block list?

Is Awara a system where many commanders might go?

Open is mostly empty because space/galaxy is huge (20,000+ systems in the 'Bubble' alone).

Mainly, one must go where others are, to be able to see them.

Also, there may be other players in your instance but you might not notice them. If you turn on Network Bandwidth Monitor (Ctrl-B), anything over 1k/s indicates presence of another player, IIRC...

Aso check the 4th tab(???) in the ship comms menu. This will show you if you have shared an instance with anyone else...

Thanks for the info. I don't think anyone is blocking me since this is the first time I have been flying in open. I'll keep trying.

If no one is in Horizons 4.0 I'd switch to Odyssey if you have it to see if anyone is there. As for Legacy don't bother as it is a separate game not involved in the Thargoid war.

There were a lot of CMDRs in the AXI Group in Awara. However you were probably better off where you were, since there seemed to be a lot of rubberbanding in the AXI group instance.

You will more often than not, not meet players in open unless you are in a popular spot. Like Community Goals (CGs). Be forewarned, CGs attract griefers at the stations.

Also current Thargoid war targets you'll meet more commanders than usual. Best of luck!
