The only way to purchase the alpha right now is through the frontier store. they won't be selling alpha through Steam. Frontier will provide you with the Steam key.

After August 25th the alpha version will no longer be for sale. You would have to wait till the game is released in November

No. You'll have to wait until November 17. That's when it will go on sale on Steam. You can buy it at planetcoaster.com until August 25. From August 25-November 16 no one will be able to buy it.
Either buy it today from Frontier Store to get access to the Alpha, or wait until after the 25th and get access to the full release at launch.

from August 25, you can ONLY PRE-ORDER at steam. If you want the ALPHA, you have to buy NOW. Today or Tomorrow on the FRONTIER STORE. If you pre order on steam when it goes on it at thursday, you have to wait for release day on 17. of november. Got it? OK! [big grin]

Not totally correct if you buy Planet Coaster: Thrillseeker Edition £29.99/€37.99/$44.99 – this version includes an in-game Golden Hat for your avatar, a Gold King Coaster mascot, a digital sketchbook, the Planet Coaster Official Soundtrack and access to the Planet Coaster beta. [big grin]
If you want Alpha access you must buy the game at the Frontier store today or tomorrow the 24th.
If you are Ok with waiting till Beta or release, then you can buy it on Steam or at the Frontier store later.

Okay, you got me here... mea culpa, that point is yours. [big grin]
the current options are:
- purchasing the alpha and betas as well as the full version to be able to play all the way up to the release
- purchasing the pre order for the release but no alpha or beta...you won't be able to play till late November
You can only purchase the Alpha and Beta UNTIL the 25th of August though! After that the only remaining possible purchase plan will be the pre order for the full game at launch. If you decide to purchase the Alpha and Beta you should do it now before that function gets disabled.
All Alpha and Beta purchases have to go through the Frontier Store and will not go through Steam. I'm sure you will be able to buy the full game through Steam at its release. That's one of the reasons why the Steam integration is happening now. But the bigger reason is that Frontier want the game to have access to the Steam Workshop. Therefore the game won't launch through the Frontier Game Launcher anymore but will launch through Steam from now on. That's why everyone is moving to Steam currently. IF YOU WANT TO PLAY THE GAME NOW -> Buy the Alpha through the Frontier Store today or tomorrow, then get the key for your purchase from Frontier, and install the game through Steam with it.
