Looking for what your referring to, but I'm not finding it. Where in Control Panel would this be? I'm in Windows 7 still, if that's relevant. I will update my drivers though.
That's not it; I still have Windows 7, and use Chrome. Additionally, browser audio isn't the only thing affected. Audio from iTunes and Napster (formerly known as Rhapsody; a legal music streaming service, basically like Spotify) can't be heard either. However, interestingly, if I'm listening to a track in Napster while starting up Elite, the track continues to be heard. But as soon as the track ends and moves on to the next, sound stops. It appears to be playing back (and YouTube video will also continue to play, just silently), and if I look in the Volume Mixer it shows that audio is playing. But all I can hear is Elite's sounds.
EDIT-- Okay, so it might not entirely be Elite. I generally run my sound through a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 audio interface. I have it set up to record music to my computer easily, but I generally use headphones connected to it for the advantage of an audio (some games, like Skyrim, won't let me adjust my computer's volume level while the game is running). But I switched to external USB speakers, and audio worked as normal; could again listen to music while Elite is running. Switched it back to the interface, and the problem was back. But the issue still seems to have to do with Elite, as I can hear music as normal while running other games.
