Can't play with my friend in private group

No matter what we try we are not able to play together. We can join up in a wing but no matter what tricks we see online to get to play together it doesn't work! We can highlight each other but when we get close we can't see each other. It's like we are in different instances. And it shows we are right next to each item her but the npc ships around me he can't see either. How can we get to actually play together? The whole reason I got this game was to play with my friend and in the 6 months I've had the game we have only been able to play together one time. I don't understand how if we are in private play we are put in different instances. Someone please patch this major issue or tell me how to remedy this problem. We have tried almost every trick we have seen online and they don't work. Help!!

There are definitely instancing issues at the minute, the Devs may be looking into it so know your not the only one having problems. If you've tried all the various tricks then there's not much to do, it seems to be hit and miss at the moment.

Are you located near each other and using the same internet connection?

If not - Try each of you disabling UPNP on your routers and manually setting ports. As a last resort, try putting each of your machines in the DMZ of your routers.

There are a few different things to try - but in some instances of equipment / ISP it's just going to be impossible.

There is a bug that sometimes you dont see the others in your wing (even with internet ok), in this case both have to HC, and maybe you start seeing him again after one or two jumps, sometimes take a while, but is definitely a bug

Hi,

Yes, there is instancing issues it seems.

Some things to try on resolving the situation; stuff we've picked up on in the fuel rats:

1. Check you're both appearing online.
2. Check you both have Adult Default privacy settings
3. Check that both of you have a NAT Type of Open (Xbox Network Settings) - moderate or strict will cause instancing issues.
4. Power down both Xboxes, pull power cable out for 10 secs so the memory caches clear - do the same withe your internet routers if you can. - Plug everything back in.
5. If still no luck..; start back at step 1 :(

We have tried the going to super cruise and coming back out and still no luck and when we nav lock on one another it just keeps taking us to super cruise and going back out of super cruise over and over again

We have been around this long... must have worked.
