Can't Seem To Find Bromellite...?

Hey all, I'm working on unlocking bill turner, so I need 50t of bromellite.

From my googlings, I need to mine from a pristine ice ring.

So, I'm here in Delkar 9 A, Ice Ring.
(With a random DBS scout that followed me, and is now mining)

But after 20~ prospectors, I've found zero Bromellite..

Am I in the wrong place,cor just very unlucky? Lol

Oddly enough, I keep finding other high value things. But I don't want them!

First up, do you have the Alioth permit? Don't waste time mining if not.

20 prospectors used isn't that many, just keep looking, you have been a bit unlucky so far

Or you're going to end up having to haul it around with you while you do a bunch of missions.

There's a CNB in Holiacan, that's where I went. Took a couple of hours.

Thanks for that, and which station lets you cash those bounties in? I'm eager to get the Alioth permit before I grind out Alliance Rep so I can get Bill Turner to seriously start considering Plasma Accelerators in my arsenal.

I can't remember their names, but it's the closest to the CNB anyway. Hopi? Something like that. Lol

The last 30 prospectors didn't find any Bromellite.... Grrr.. lol

And, of course, now you're faced with the prospect of having to deliver that 46t of Bromellite before you can have another bite at it.

You probably can't just restock limpets and carry on mining cos' you'll attract pirates as soon as you jump back into the rings.

got mine pirated from a T9 mining a small distance from a mining spot, manifested to see what was inside, and then slow hatchbreakers and collectors to get it from it as it was the only thing it was getting. Handed in fine for the engineer

If you hit a RES in a medium-high security system, you should be able to let the cops protect you while you shoot roids.

The furthest asteroid in a large pristine icy belt cluster (12 asteroids) always has 15% Bromellite. Asteroids replenish 2 hours after chipping the first fragment. Bookmark a few of those and plot yourself a loop to get the 50 tons in a reliable manner.

The engineer requiring 50 tons is within that system. No point gathering the donation if you have no access.

Go near the edge of the Ice ring closer to the planet. For some reason, which might just be RNG, but I got 20 tons rather fast.
Still I spent nearly 50 prospectors looking for them.
On the bright side, I left with 20 tons of Low temp Diamonds.

I thought about doing the same for about 2/3 nanoseconds...the inclusion of the word 'mining' in the requirements made up my mind for me on that one.

After the 500 or whatever tns that Selene required, I'm never going to go through that again - 'shame really, since I'd love PAs for my FAS & Vulture, but meh...heat cannons will just have to do!

Nah, I went back with all my cargo, including some LTDs I'd mined. Lol
No pirate can stop my Anaconda.

That Engineer is all unlocked and ranked up to grade 5 now.

Now I'm just off to hand in some more Xihe things to someone else.

Only 2 more Engineers to unlock after that.

Probably anecdotal, but I used to find pristine was best for that meth crystal stuff. For bromolite, major reserves served me better. A bit like Osmium being easier to find in major reserves metallic than pristine.

I got my 50t in a single session with a mining Orca in the high RES around Delkar 10. OP is very unlucky.

You can get Bromellite as mission rewards, so you can do this without any mining at all.

edit - just saw a mission to deliver 88 bromellite. Take a mission like that and abandon. I think the engineers accept pirated goods as donation.
