Caribou Moss Doesn't Look Right

I don't mean to be blunt or rude, but compared to most other things in the game that do look good, the Caribou Moss just looks... bad.

I think it's interesting to have moss as separate entities to dress things up, but this one just doesn't work well.

First of all, when you look it up, which ends up on Reindeer Lichen and Cladonia rangiferina (Is it what it's intended to be?), it barely looks anything like it.

Well, kind of, but more like it's scaled up too large, as it's very "flat" (as if it's a bunch of plates) and blurred.
Is that what happened to it by any chance? Because I feel like it would look more accurate if the model itself was scaled down a lot.
It's also very "high" with a lot of empty space underneath, which makes it awkwardly pointy, and lowering it just makes it look like it's sticking into whatever you stick it into.

Right now, the Hawthorn bushes look more like what you find in photos of Caribou Moss or Reindeer Lichen. Not quite, but somehow still closer.

I think it's useful to have this kind of foliage, but its lower quality really stands out and it's difficult to make it look good. It looks like "foliage" from a late-'90s or early-2000s games, with its very flat and low-res textures. - It's almost as if its level-of-detail simply doesn't update when nearer, and it could very well be the case for all I know.

I'd like to see this updated to something more accurate or at least more appropriate and usable. - I'd almost suggest for it to be removed and replaced with an option in the Terrain-coverage, like have Moss besides Grass. Though, that wouldn't be applicable on items, so perhaps even both. - But this needs an update.

Thanks for reading.

It does come across (and no shade) like the item is stuck at its lowest detail setting based on player proximity and it isn't loading the higher quality model as you get closer. But maybe that's not what's going on and this is just...it. Eep.

Right? - It kinda looks like it and it could be, since different objects definitely have very different LOD-properties.
But that's why I hope they can have a look at it, as it might not update properly. - If not, perhaps they could improve the model.

It's always been that ugly, i dont' think it's a bug, unless it's from the very start. I use it to show an area is grungy, not as foliage. Maybe it was one of the early items made?

I don't use that moss, because it is so ugly. Never occured to me before, that it could be a bug, but yes - perhaps it is. And I would like to have the "proper" moss, too.
I use it, but only in large groups and so densely you can't see the ground. If you cover the ground with enough of it you don't notice the pointiness.
